I love Waiting, haha. As a former restaurant employee, it’s not really common, but it’s not out of the question. The real moral here is like what they say in the movie: “don’t fuck with the people who handle your food.” And the one lady who got her food fucked with is an example of THE WORST kind of restaurant customer. Rude, abusive, and entitled. It takes that kind of extreme behavior for it to happen, usually.

If I went to a place like on that movie clerks then I would make sure that I never give the waitress a hard time or send the food back
