Do you like tomatoes?

I LOVE chunks of them in soups and chili. I love tomato sauces, and even roasted tomatoes.
Oddly enough, I don't care for slices of raw tomato. I don't want them on my burgers and don't like BLTs. Sometimes cherry tomatoes are tasty.

How 'bout you?

The best tomatoes I have ever had were grown in the Southern part of the USA. They are big, and meaty, and when you pull one off the vine and eat it while it's warm from the hot sun, those are my favorite. I put a little bit of Sali on them and eat them like an apple.
Here is a very simple but tasty salad they make in the south.
Cut up one or two big meaty tomatoes into cube size. Lay aside.
Boil a package of elbow macaroni until cooked. Drain. Cool a bit.
Stir in mayonnaise to cover macaroni.
Fold in tomato pieces.
Cool in the fridge.
Everyone seems to like it 🙂

You bring up a good point, Sage. There were a lot of heirloom varieties of tomatoes. I'll bet some of them were delicious.

I like tomatoes, I usually couldn't eat them by themselves like my husband used to.. But one time, when him and the girls were gone, the neighbor brought black cherry tomatoes he grew over in a grocery bag. I tried one and they were so good, by the time husband and girls got back, I probably ate half the bag 🤣 but it's not like they knew how many there were originally lololol

I do like those bite size tomatoes. We had some growing in our garden for a few years. Little red ones and yellow ones. It was fun to go out and eat them off of the vine.
At salad bars, I usually add a few of the cherry tomatoes to my salad. They kind of burst in your mouth.

used to despise those things, thought onlygood for throwing at brother. especiallly fresh, perfectly fine cooked up in pasta sauce.

now I eat all kinds.

Read some history on tomatos and they were rejected for quite some time as garden decorations until someone cooked them up in italy.

I'm very similar to you. I like tomato sauces, I like things with tomatoes mixed in them that are cooked. But fresh tomatoes I don't like. I can tolerate them in a few cases mixed in with things, but on the whole fresh ones I just don't care for

I love tomatoes, but I'm very picky about them. If I'm eating them raw, they need to be from a farm and perfectly ripened.
