I couldn't find a good picture of moonshine (the brand is only 100 proof) and a still doesn't get the point across well enough... but those who indulge have always had everclear before.

Anyway, to let loose, destress, what's your poison? Mixed drinks would count as Liquor, unless they're bottled, then beer.

Proof in alcohol is double the percentage so 100 proof is 50% alcohol. I’m saying this for if when you said 100 proof you meant 100% alcohol by volume moonshine.

Oh, I'm aware, the moonshine brand "moonshine" is 100 proof. You also can't reach 100% ethanol, 95% is the top without adding something to absorb the water, which would then make it impossible to reach 100%. It's an azeotrope, they'll always mix with water, or break down to form water at a high enough concentration. Ethanol does that, so does nitric acid, those are the only two off the top of my head though.

Anyway, I don't think I had a favorite drink when I was younger, I just drank a lot. If you're restricted in some way from doing so, that can actually be a good stroke of fortune whether it feels like it or not. Then again everyone has to get alcohol poisoning at some point anyway lol

I only got drunk once, I was 17 and at the beach. I ran my mouth until I got in a fight and tripped over a curb while we were fighting breaking my ankle. She then proceeded to beat the snot out of me. I had to come home on crutches with 2 black eyes and smashed lips. I never got drunk again and stopped drinking alcohol completely by the time I got married at 19. Haven't missed it one bit.

Heh, mine was at a gay bar when I was about 15 with a group of 4. We had to drag one back because he got drugged. Then we got lost, but there's so much water down here everything circles around anyway. He woke up at some point and started making out with another friend in the back seat. Fun times lol

I wanted something without a strong taste of alcohol and the waiter recommended a Strawberry Mai Tai with fresh strawberries slices in it; not only was it sweet, but it taste like juice. I fell in love with it immediately and got tipsy.

Barley, Hops and Water (don't mention the yeast!), and that's it. It's been the law since 1516! (Actually, it's no longer the law, but a lot of German breweries stick to it because it's all you need.)

Anything with sugar can be used in place of barley, and be more simple as well. Granted you'd be missing the bitter flavor. I get your point though, beer is a specific route to fermenting alcohol, like wine relies on rotting grapes and sulfates, then stronger alcohols rely on distillation generally.

We get bumper crops down here though and cheap, delicious drinks are not something I frown on.

I think the strawberries are just flavouring, not the main ingredient. The company's website checks to see if you're 21 before letting you read about their beer! You can legally buy beer from 16, here.

Strawberries from Ponchatoula, they have a massive strawberry harvest and festival for it every year. Abita has a tour of the brewery I would not recommend driving for. The "samples" are in solo cups with refills. I also like getting floored by the one that's 8%, it has an alligator on it, but I always forget the name.

I've never bothered to set up a still, first, there are no streams down here, second, I'm not 100% confident in removing all the methanol.

Never drank much gin to figure if I like it or not. I can only say I definitely do not like absinthe, that shit tastes gross. No two ways about it, or acquiring the taste.

Well, absinthe is definitely NOT gin - and I agree with you regarding the latter's merits. As to gin, try a gin and tonic some time - particularly now. It is good year round, but a G&T is the best summer drink ever.

I will limted my alcohol drinks. It will 1/ or two. I don't mixed with alochol. Other i will have rum with lemonade or ginger beer that is a soft drink. Yesterday i has a can of Malibu Pina Colada. And one Friday we had Asahi with crispy ducks and pancakes. Later when to wine bar and rum and spirit that was a cocktail . England called them spirit instead of liqueur.

I limit myself now, like buy at most 12 beers per week, and only drink 4 a day when I do. That's progress. Used to be if I started drinking I wouldn't stop until I passed out or blacked out, and it didn't take much to get me to start. Everyone has a limit, not everyone recognizes it though.

I get the same thing, sweet wines, or too many drinks with soda in them will give me a headache and make me all queasy like even if I don't get drunk. For some reason champagne doesn't do the same though, which is odd.

I doubt it. It’s basically as close to the original recipe for Irish Whiskey as possible from about 1000 years ago.

I fell in love with it. Just make sure to let the ice water it slightly and stir or it will be very sweet.

They're certainly cost effective and get the job done. I've drank the cheap 2$ half gallons of vodka with methanol in them when I knew I'd be drinking heavily for days on end knowing there would be recovery days with US brand liqour and beer to clean it out towards the end of the binge.

I get not having sympathy towards addicts, but if you put a bucket outside in a city and drink from it, that's a deadly risk. Even in a rural area I'd employ some sort of filtration and/or purification, drop of bleach minimum, something, honestly though you're saving money you have a higher risk with parasites and bacteria there, especially from bird/animal droppings, then from alcohol.

You do realize most ancient civilizations drank watered down wine and tea to drastically cut down on water borne infections. If the alcohol had a higher morbidity, it wouldn't be a solution, but just a new problem.

The moonshine brand "moonshine" is 100 proof, which is why I didn't use their picture, wild turkey is stronger, so that's BS. Everclear was and still is 190 proof, which is 95% alcohol.

It's an azeotrope, unless you use chemicals to remove the water you cannot get a higher percentage of ethanol. I highly recommend against removing that 5% water as the reaction to gain water for equilibrium will be quite exciting... and inside you if you're drinking it in that state.

lolol well I was introduced to banana shakes awhile back so that’s my favourite… and it’s simple too, just mix bananas, milk, ice and you get the tastiest shake ever😋
