If you pour cereal into milk it could splash and overflow easier. It’s just easier to control if you already have the amount of cereal you want in your bowl and then you slowly add milk. Plus, it helps the texture of your cereal be more consistent, instead of a lot of dry pieces separated from those dunked in milk.

That's so stupid. You're just going to splash milk everywhere when the cereal hits. Plus, your pour the milk for how much cereal is in the bowl. Doing it backwards is using too little or too much milk.

This is like entering the bathroom, wiping your butt, then sitting down to take a dump.

I put the cereal in the bowl first and then add milk. That way, every piece of cereal gets at least some milk on it. If the milk goes in first, and then the cereal, there will be several cereal pieces on top that get no milk.
