I love pistachios. When salted and roasted, they're my favorite kind of nut. But I don't get a thrill from shelling them and eating one at a time. It's tedious and messy. My wife prefers the ones in shells, though.

Because she's such a good wife, she buys them in the shells for herself and bags of shelled pistachios just for me.

I love already shelled roasted and salted pistachios. I remember before they started selling them already shelled, I would buy the red ones and they would make my fingers pink. Then they had the tan colored ones too.
Growing up, all of us kids in junior high school were hooked on eating sunflower seeds! Those were my favorite. I even bought them in my 40's and would eat them at my desk at work. I was surprised that so many people at work loved them as well, and they would sneak them off my desk. They are tedious as well, and just a tiny seed inside. The good old days.

They taste fresher from the shell and it keeps my fidgety fingers occupied. They're one of my favourite nuts.
