What do you think of my game plan?

Me and my fiance are having a cake off he's been saying he doesn't think being a cake decorator is hard so I'm making him put his roses whare his mouth is.

Well originally I was going to use this image

on top and a light pink border using either this border or this one

and then draw on the cake in gold like this

and add a bunch of pastels flowers to the bottom using rose's sweat peas and maybe a Lilly or two but he said he doesn't want to use an image and I don't want to cheat so scratch that idea

New game plan since I can't do that now I'm going to make a light brown basket with a gold rim and fill it full of like flowers it's going to be a chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream a fudge filling and salted caramel on the top hidden by the Flowers

I'm surprised that he wanted to ban images. Because you would think that that would have been beneficial to him.

Well I thought it would be easier with his limited skill set but he didn't want to use one he didn't explicitly say I couldn't use one but I feel it's unfair advantage if he's not using one. Don't get me wrong edible images come with their own set of problems you kinda got to get them placed correct the first time because wants it hits the frosting it's their end of story because it's very thin fondant it will break if you try to remove it or if you don't put it on fast enough it will start to dry and become brittle making it prone to cracking you Also need to get it smooth or it will wrinkle up. I can cheat the placement thing if I put my cake in the freezer then place the image because it won't stick to the frozen frosting

That freezer trick is a good idea! ... Though, does it change the taste of the cake at all?

No not really unless you have a smelly freezer but you can always put it in a cake case then in a freezer

Nope most cake's you get from like from bakery are actually cake's that have been frozen and had simple syrup added to keep them moist
