It seems to me that when cooking classes were offered, they seemed to be focused around specific dishes, and that I wasn't that interested in. It's very limited. I think teaching cooking theory could be very useful. So I'd look carefully at the curriculum. You're not looking for professional chef level, but really how useful it is to teach you how to make a couple of dishes? There are recipes for that. Though it looks like a decent way to socialize for a night.
This is a really excellent book, by the way. I bought it as a gift for someone. Tons of theory in it.

Thatโs smart. Can never have too many skills.
I'm going to check around for a school. BTY, when I learn to cook, maybe you and your hubby/family will drop by for dinner and I'll play some dinner music on the violin or piano? ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ I' pick you up at the nearest airport in the Lear Jet?๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Careful. We are undergoing sudden extensive home renovations and we might take up on that.
Iโll ask the pilot if I can have a go at the controls. ๐
Thanks for mho.
As for me I live alone & I donโt have a personal chef so I learned how to cook. Youtube is a wonderful teacher & taking a cooking class is a great idea.
Bro itโs so easy & here are a few videos that taught me https://youtu.be/tKV4vrSuLkA https://youtu.be/uxdZEWaamfs https://youtu.be/r-eL8u7SrlM https://youtu.be/5ckKeuH9j9A https://youtu.be/TLnDSHr8gdg

You can learn how to cook without going to a class.
Itโs actually very easy as long as you have the common sense to know things like fire is hot and that itโs easier to add ingredients than it is to remove them.
Google has 500 versions of every recipe available at your fingertips.
Some with videos to help.
I know my way around a pot.
@purplepoppy I know there are many times questions, regarding, 'wanted changes' on the format on GAG, and one I would like to, suggest is the option to, have more than two MHO people on a question. Many time, as in this case I got a LOT of input and wish I could add maybe 3 or more MHO's I know you are MOD, and I was going to go on GAG community and ask, but thought I would ask you first.

I kind of can, but I can only make simple stuff. I don't cook dinner really since I live at home.
Cooking and baking can be fun.
I can cook, ish. I hate following recipes though, so I usually just wing something I think will taste good, and so far, it all has.
Yes, I can cook just about anything. I also bake my own bread and cure and smoke my own bacon & make sausages.
Yes. Iโm an excellent cook. Go to cooking school if youโd like, but you can learn plenty online.
