I need to learn some quick simple lunch ideas to prepare beforehand, like prepare lunch for an entire week.
If anyone got any ideas, don't hesitate to tell me even if it's not swedish food.
I am not Swedish. I do know of one user that is but she is busy and likely not to respond at the moment. If she does message me, I will tag her to your question. So, that being said, I had to look up what some simple Swedish lunches were on the interwebs. Here is what came up:
Smörgås - an open-faced sandwich with various toppings such as cheese, cold cuts, fish, eggs, or vegetables. Common toppings include smoked salmon, pickled herring, cucumbers, tomatoes, and hard-boiled eggs.
Räksmörgås - a shrimp sandwich made with boiled or fried shrimp, mayonnaise, lettuce, and lemon juice on bread.
Pyttipanna - a dish made from diced potatoes, onions, and leftover meat or sausage, which are pan-fried and served with fried eggs and pickled beets.
Köttbullar - Swedish meatballs made from ground beef or pork, served with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam.
Gravlax - cured salmon served with a dill sauce, boiled potatoes, and a side salad.
These dishes can be found in most cafes and restaurants in Sweden, but they are also easy to prepare at home.
Now, are any of these good? No clue as I am Indian and have never tried any of these. I just got them off a website and they are said to be easy to prepare at home. Hopefully this helps. I could give you some Indian dishes, but I am not sure if that is your style or not.
Aww thank you so much for the search!! Yes please if you have any simple Indian dishes it'd help too.
You are welcome. While not the most popular in India itself (compared to the world) tikka masala is one of my favourites and something that a lot of people are familiar with. You can use your favourite search engine and find loads of recipes.
I am told by friends here from other countries that you can find already made naan bread in markets. You can have that and simple rice with tikka masala.
Now, if you want a more traditional Indian dish, google "butter chicken". It is one of my absolute favourites. I don't know that these are more simple than the ones I searched but they can be made in big quantities and stored.
Ok thank you. I'll definitely search for them!
Thank you for the MHO 🙂
I'm not swedish but I am a Uni student so I've some ideas. But, any preferences to keep in mind?
No preferences. Please share your ideas.
Simple Lunch Ideas: Carbonara. All you need are eggs, pasta, bacon, pepper and parmesan. You can make a big batch. You can make bolognese sauce and freeze it. You can have that with rice or pasta. If you want something cheap, you can make "pizza" on a pan with bread slices. Spread butter on both sides, cook one side and after you flip it, add ketchup to the cooked side and toppings and cheese. Cover and cook on low temp until cheese melts. You can also make soups and curries. Tuna salads are good too.
Is it okay if I made all that and put it in the freezer or fridge? Wouldn't it go bad?
Ok. Thank you so much!
You can google this as there are tons of ideas and plans available free online.
