Trending & News Why not say chai? Vanilla chai latte is nice.
Generally, I prefer "black" tea, but black tea is just a generic term for many different kinds of dark and more oxidized teas like Assam, Darjeeling, Ceylon, English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast, Earl Grey, and many, many other styles of "black" tea.
With that said, I chose orange pekoe. Not because it's a "type" of tea, but because it's actually a grade of tea. Orange pekoe the highest grade of "black" tea you can get.
However, oftentimes the orange pekoe grading designation by tea manufacturers can be confusing and a little misleading. When you see a typical box of tea labelled "orange pekoe" at the store it's usually a stronger-flavoured Assam variety, but it can also be any other type of black tea, or a blend of different black teas.
Sadly, many larger tea manufacturers have cheapened the quality of their tea over the years, yet they still keep the "orange pekoe" grading designation on the box. Mostly because most people don't know orange pekoe is actually a grade of tea, instead of a style of tea, so manufacturers get away with selling inferior quality tea to people because there's no real regulating body upholding any standards in the worldwide tea industry. Sadly, some of my favourite everyday teas of the past are of horrible quality now due to corporate buyouts, greed and a cheapening of their product for higher profits. *sighs*
Anwyayyyyy. lol Overall, I prefer "black" teas, so I chose orange pekoe, because it's (supposed to be) the highest grade of black tea. 😊
I should also mention I do enjoy green tea, herbal and fruit teas as well, but I drink "black" varieties of tea the most. I drink Assam varieties 90%+ of the time, but I also like Darjeeling and Celon tea as well. My favourite green tea is Chinese Fujian jasmine flower green tea. I just love teas of all kinds.
