How do you deep fry stuff?

The only thing I normally deep-fried at home were onion rings, and that was maybe once or twice a year, so I used a large, deep skillet to maximize area and minimize oil.
But I did just get an air fryer, and I'm experimenting with it. Chicken came out great and I tried some frozen corn dogs in there and they were amazing. I look forward to trying more things.
I was considering getting one of those a while back but Im not too sure about them.
One reason is that I am fairly certain the name for a thing that cooks food in hot air is not in fact a 'frier' but an 'oven' and Im not sure why I would want a much smaller tabletop oven when I already have a built in oven?
Air fryer is an amazing invention. I use it a lot - and it doesn't change the taste of food at all. It actually adds to it - in a way where it's not soaked in oil - which is so unnecessary in either case.
I use either a deep fat fryer or a large cast iron skillet

Air fryer has become the new oven in my place. Can't remember the last time I actually used the proper oven. Far healthier if you're a person conscious of their health and weight, generally quicker, much easier to clean and I'm not wasting money on cooking oils which again cost a pretty penny if you avoid using seed oils
Hey little Pops, you are so sweet, I want to cuddle you till you squeal. I've never heard of an air fryer, but all these fat free stuffs just take away the taste. Why does low fat always equal low taste or no taste. A bastard who can make a low fat option that does not taste crap, is really the need of the hour, he would also make a shit load of money if it can be done.
I dont fry , I try to avoid but don't completely if I did I'd use an air fryer for sure , supposed to be more healthy , I'm not sure that they are or not.
Never have.
I see that picture and think about video game logic. lol [poof!, instant transformation, catchy little jingle] “You got Fried Chicks!” rofl
I have a deep fryer. I use it mostly to fry fish.
I used to have a deep fryer. When it died I got myself an air fryer.
Oven baking and air frying are my immediate go to's for crispy. When it comes to wings I'd rather bbq them on my grill in a cast iron skillet!
Depends on what you're cooking. Canola or olive oil is best. An air fryer also does wonders.
I fried something earlier tonight, in a pan
I prefer a deep iron skillet
pot full of oil and air fryer.
We have an air fryer that we use quite often.
Our stove now has a no pre heat air fryer
Pan, but sometimes air fryer
In a wok. But I'm too lazy to deep fry
All 3 ways
Cast iron pot
