Enjoyed the texture as a kid, but the flavor never great and as we know the nutrition is void. These days, it's probably total garbage. I had my share back in the "day".

Now at my age, it is pure poison to my body. Whomever comes up with this stuff should stop peddling it on unaware children. That's child abuse. It's not corn... duh... it's sugar!

When I was a kid, trick or treating, candy corn was my favorite. Back in those days, it was common for ghosts and goblins to be offered a large bowl of candy corn. Whatever they could pick up with one hand was theirs. Really little kids, with small hands, could use both hands.

Any "Mello-creme" product- candy corn, little pumpkins, harvest mix (corn ears, haystack shape plus the pumpkins and corn, (and in a month) Christmas trees, ornaments, etc.- are not on my trick or treat list. They exist in kind of a candy purgatory. They aren't a hard candy (such as Life Savers, or clear flavored hard candy, they aren't a soft candy (such as salt water taffy), they don't have a terribly definitive flavor (some have a teensy bit of honey, but nothing like Spearmint Leaves, or Life Savers Pep-o-Mint). They aren't even a "softer-hard" candy such as Smarties, PEZ, or even M&Ms. They are in their own strange, little world.

Even when I lived in the US I never bothered with it, its one of those things that my American co-workers could not understand that I'd never come across until I started working in the US, in fact I found the way North America did Halloween was not something I could be bothered with, as in the UK it is a very minor celebration.

It's mostly mid, especially the cheap Brachs brand. Now candy corn from Russell Stover is excellent, they are always more of a premium candy.
