Any german beer, Veltins, Krombacher, Königspilsner, Becks, 5,0, Diebels...

Heinecken is okay, but super expensive.

Irish beers like Guinnes or Kilkenny are also good, but really expensive.

i find with Heineken it can be super tasty or sort of skunked tasting.
i'm a big fan or german and euro styled beers. so kolsch and pilsners tend to be my preference. in the US it has become all about IPAs recently. they can be good but are best when they are not too hoppy
my favorite brand right now is a PA brewery called New Trail.

I did drink draught Peroni in my restaurant days but I'd probably have sunk Windowlene if it was offered with the thirst a commercial kitchen creates

I generally cook with dark real ale and Guinness

Theakston's Old Peculier [sic]. I'm not sure how available it is outside of the UK. It's brewed in Yorkshire I believe.
