And so I find out that we humans are the primary predator of "king crabs"... but we're only allowed to catch and eat the males. The females thus are allowed to lay eggs and make more king crabs. Makes sense...

Given they grow to potentially 2x the size of a human... there could be some monster "chickydoodle" crabs out there. That make for a very crabby day if ya run into one.

The movie "Tremors" was excellent, in pretty much every way; not a single second of screen time was wasted, and characters, both human and monster, consistently made intelligent, logical decisions based on information they had at the time. It's not high art; it's a monster movie, but it's probably the BEST monster movie I've ever seen, from a films-as-art viewpoint.

The sequels... not so much. They weren't awful or anything, but the quality DID dip. Interestingly, in Tremors 6 (easily the worst of the lot), there are, for the first time, as many female as male humans killed by the monster (s), and a surprising amount of the criticism of it I saw was about how it misogynistic to kill so many female characters.

So I don't know about sexism in the humans-relating-to-crustaceans field, but in the Devonian-worm-monsters-relating-to-humans field, it's pretty much seen as a requirement.

I wouldn't want to run into a 12ft long crab... might be having a crabby day... eventhough generally considered not dangerous to humans.
