But if I had to choose, I think I'd go with Italian. There is a lot of variety. It's not all pizza and spaghetti. Some of it is simple and easy to throw together. Breads, cheeses and meats are great for snacking. And some dishes are culinary masterpieces. I especially love seafood.10 ReplyI'm going with American, note I did not say fast food, but America has the most diverse, best tasting and healthiest food of any country the world has ever seen.

Okay BBQ can count
+1 yJapanese, but without the octopus and family :D fish is good; the rest is not

"Indian" might be healthier, but then I could say "European", and have pizzas, pasta, calves faces, Sauerkraut, Salami, curries (British since the 18th century)...

+1 yChinese or Italian. Chinese because there are sooo many regional variations and the ones I've had were great and the rest seem good to. Italian because they are so very locally based, and you can get fresh, non-pesticide grown fruits and veggies, zero hormone meats all the time because it's standard practice, and fresh breads made from grains that haven't been stripped down to junk food.

+1 yHard to say with America making their own versions of foods from other cultures. If I buy a Little Caesars pizza am I getting American or Italian food?
Also I remember various things like french fries and french toast aren’t actually French, but don’t remember how many of them were made in America.

+1 yIt's either French or Indian for me.
I'll go with Indian since a lot of my favorite French recipes are very time-consuming and expensive to cook here in Japan (wine is cheap but butter is very expensive here).

+1 yI'd have to say Mexican. I feel like there's enough variety and good choices to not grow bored of it.

If you could only eat one country’s food (excluding your nationality) for the rest of your life which country’s food would choose and why?
