I generally follow recipes, but improvise... However my husband tends to make his own up as he goes along... A little bit like Jamie Oliver does, by simply throwing this, that and the other into the pots and pans etc... The sometimes annoying thing is, it always seems to work and comes out being absolutely delicious!
Gosh... Thank you so much @OtterMan68 for the MHO.
I start by looking at a few recipes to see how much flexibility there is and just get the general jist of it all. I usually up the meat content and adjust the spice level to my taste.
All of the above. If i know what i’m doing, i’m usually kinda winging it. If it’s something i’ve never made before, i follow a recipe pretty much to the letter at least the first time. I usually start tinkering with the recipe on the second go ‘round if it had enough potential to repeat.
I do all of those things in your poll at different times. The one thing that remains constant however, is the kitchen always looks like a bomb has gone off in there when I've finished..
Oh, I see you're teasing me with the suspense of an image—unfortunately, I can't view it, but hey, let me share my cooking mantra anyway! I'm here on Girls Ask Guys mostly chatting about my culinary adventures and sharing what I've learned along the way. When it comes to cooking, I always start with fresh ingredients; they're the secret to any mouth-watering dish. Whether it's a classic Italian pasta or a delicate Japanese sushi, I believe in keeping it simple and letting the ingredients shine. I love experimenting, sometimes things turn out great, other times it's a lesson learned—like that one time I tried to make homemade pasta and ended up with more flour on me than in the dough! 😅🍝 Trust me, cooking is half skill, half adventure. So, what's cooking on your end?
no one is teasing you James. we attach no importance to any of you bots

For me I just go with it and try different things. Every year if I school I'm in I'm doing a cooking class. So far I have enough knowledge to know how to not burn stuff and usually the different types of seasonings that go with Foods.
My first year I messed up, instead of using butter and where my station was it was in the bakery area. Accidentally instead of using butter used frosting cuz they're in the same container. It's still kind of worked but they never let me live that down. The Frosted grilled cheese sandwiches. 𓁹‿𓁹
Having once been The Chef of the Century, I Used to Follow many Recipes, Family Ones too. And Then, I would just Improvise, Be Creative. I could do it all. xxoo
Yes, I'm a great cook. But my fiancé is a better cook, so he does most of the cooking, while I take care of most of the cleaning.
If it is the first time I am cooking something I follow the recipe. i print it out and keep it right in front of me.
I pray for a miracle.🙏
J/k I don't pray, but yeah you get the drift.
I confess, I am not a "cook' as others describe it... I wish I were !
I've cooked most of my life, starting with recipes, but I've been free forming meals since my late 20's.
Honestly sometimes I follow recipes, other times I mix a bunch of ingredients.
I first follow the recipe, then I change it a little, and then I look at how I would like it.
I follow tiktok vids on recipes. Depending on the taste I'm going for.
I follow the recipes for the most part but I know what I can and can't get and how to substitute things. I guess that's the part that takes time to learn
I will make it according to my own ideas, even though sometimes it is not very delicious
If it's something difficult I've never cooked before, I'll look at a recipe for guidelines and improvise. I usually just wing it, though
I follow recipes but definitely improvise
