Do you think it’s weird to not use syrup on pancakes western?

Someone told me that they just melt some butter on it sometimes. But the pancake is too dry without syrup. I feel like it’s essential.

Generally, we DO put syrup on pancakes; some prefer jellies or jams, but it's some kind of lubricant, yes. Butter, when added, is generally added in addition to syrup, as you'd need quite a lot of it to replace the fluid entirely.
