Do you like upside down cakes?

An upside down cake is made by arranging a layer of fruit in a cake tin before pouring the cake mix on top. Once baked the cake is turned upside-down before serving so the fruit is on the top.

I made a ginger bread and pear one that I finished under the grill to caramelise the sugar after inverting. Pineapple upside-down cake is probably the most well known but there's orange, apple, peach, and many others.

The only kind I've ever had is pineapple upside down cake. My grandmother used to make it. Inside each pineapple ring was a Maraschino cherry. I loved those cakes! They were such a treat!

I've always been more of an engineer than a chef. The last thing I turned upside down was a stroker in my "Janitor Stroking System (JSS)" prototype. In this system, gravity itself creates a downward thrust. A DC-powered motor and the "Report" button in GaG are wired into the same circuit. It's just an idea to provide incentive to GaG janitors, so we're a little more tidy and free of those pesky trolls.

I did a gingerbread one also, but with apples. I do pineapple, pear, peach, cherry. Love upside down cakes because they are so easy to make.

Yeah. Pineapple upside down cake is the only one I've had. But I think an apple upside-down cake sounds good.

Cakes generally I’m afraid it’s a no , I make an exception for key lime cheesecake though. I’m more of a spicy and savory kind of guy.. so no , now the upside down cake or the right way up cake 🍰

I’m a fat kid. I like pretty much any kind of cake, unless it’s overly dry. That’s why upside down cakes kick ass! All that juicy, gooey, fruity goodness keeps the batter from drying out too much. It’s kinda like the best of cake AND pie in one! I have a fat kid happy dance for just such occasions.

I am not particularly keen on cakes... but, I have been a chef for 22 years and had to make quite a few of them.

The only upside down cake I have ever made was the 'Pineapple Upside Down Cake'.

It's more likely to be known in the USA under its Irish name of barmbrack. There's lots of recipes for both but essentially it's just mix everything in a bowl and bake. If a child's old enough to hold a spoon they can make it

not my thing. used to love right side up cakes with fruit on top. I've had so much, it just makes me ill anymore, so I avoid cakes in general.

Yeah I love them, really lazy puddings, do a nice pear one and of course pineapple, with apples I tend to make German Apple cake.
