The environmental reasons are mostly nonsense (a vast decrease in biodiversity isn't helping anything), the health reasons are TOTAL nonsense (as caloric needs don't magically vanish when you stop eating the most calorie-dense foods, and you're not more likely to develop diabetes by eating more of a food that by definition has no sugar), the economic ones are even worse (not spending money makes it LESS valuable, not more), and the philosophical ones, while they DO have logic behind them, are inconsistent, since they claim no difference between human and animal, but DO claim one between animal and plant.

Matters of personal taste would call for eating MORE of something, not less; while that could push you to eating more produce, that would only be incidental vegetarianism- you wouldn't be unwilling to eat meat, you just wouldn't do it much.

Animal rights is the most logical reason. In light of the horrors of factory farming, I can understand that to an extent. That's why my wife and I get most of our meat from sources that treat and harvest their animals ethically. And we eat fish and seafood, eggs and dairy products.

Environmental concerns make no sense.

Some people think it is healthier. That's valid, I suppose.

I mean, many people find that a well-balanced vegetarian diet can lead to improved health outcomes, including lower risks of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes etc.. Not for me tho..

Unless you have some kind of meat allergy it won't be healthy for you not to eat meat. So its not health reasons thats not valid.

I also don't believe that animals are bad for the environment, so I don't find that a valid reason either.

Taste is of course fair by default although rare.

Economic reasons I hope not, that would suck. I'd personally cut out all the vegetables before giving up meat.

Aesthetics nobody should do, thats just admitting your a sheep.

Culture seems valid to me.

But ultimately the most valid of them all is you finding it unethical that a living being dies or you disagree with their living standards. Personally I think the better solution is buying meat that has good living standards since I value the animal having had a good life more than the animal having never lived to begin with.

Not a. B health is a reason MUST eat meat according to dieticians. Not b.

Culture in west is to yes eat so culture is the decider until culture will change. Also in india many eat chicken.

Vegetarian, Vegan, Meat and Fish eaters is a personal choice each person makes to suit her or his personal needs or beliefs. I respect their choice and I hope they respect mine. But we all have to make exceptions for the nut jobs on both sides that feel their way is the only way no reasoning with them

That would vary by person. I would say hormones in livestock and mercury and other contaminants in seafood. These reasons are why I make sure to and gladly pay more for free range.

I don't know that there is a valid reason. I would say "health related". Because eating a lot of vegetables is good for your body. But the human body needs protein as well. And that is not easy to do as a vegetarian.
