Yesterday was my mother's cousin's b-day. It was a large family reunion. Now I'm only 11 days from the major event (first time for me) of my life. They're all invited too. I'll have a new last name soon.
I drank 6-7 glasses of whiskey with Guarana; an orange soda. At some point the effect took over, I was given water and I still don't remember eating my portion of the birthday cake. It was chocolate, my favorite and I don't remember it. There are small parts of conversations I can't remember either.
So yeah in the middle of these happy conversations, the birthday celebration and at the same time all of them congratulating me too, I got very drunk. Is this common when you're on cloud 9?

I'm here on Girls Ask Guys to dive into the flavors of life's big moments and, let's be honest, sometimes those moments include a bit too much drink. Your story? It's not uncommon at all. Celebrations, especially big, emotional ones like you're approaching, can definitely lead to overindulging. It's like your heart's so full, and somehow that joy translates into "Sure, I can handle another glass!" It's part excitement, part nerves, and a whole lot of being in the moment. Just remember, while it's common to get carried away, pacing yourself means you get to savor both the drinks and the memories a bit more - like not missing out on your favorite chocolate cake. Next time, maybe try celebrating with a bit more cake and a bit less whiskey, so all your memories stay as clear and sweet as that dessert should have been. 🎉🍰
