(Not a huge fan of roll mops either)

I used to love shrimp crab lobster salmon golden trout rainbow trout
But a few years back I bought some fish and it's stunk there was a smell to it that I just it felt like it was just raw poisoned or something I don't know what it was like it's been sitting out for 20 days but ever since then anytime I even smell fish it kind of makes me want to throw up I don't know it's because our waters are so much more polluted or what it is but I would like to try those but I don't know if I could keep them down LOL
I have no idea what they are. They looks like snails I would never eat those and I don’t like any weird kind of stuff and I don’t even like seafood. The only seafood that I like is New England clam chowder and tuna fish like tuna fish sandwiches that’s all all. I’m a picky eater. I don’t like to eat anything that looks disgusting
It's herrings, gutted split open and smoked. Alternatively you get bloaters which are herring left whole and smoked with guts inside.
Herring contains ton of bones but those are thin and dissolve in sour marinades very soon. I like herring fillets is different sour/oily marinades but smoked or fried herrings have a smell I don't like.
I’ve tried other smoked and dried fish but I don’t think I’ve tried this before. For me, we usually use tried Pollock or anchovies in a lot of our dishes.
Kippers have a unique charm, especially for those who appreciate the depth that smoking brings to fish. While they do have a more traditional reputation, their rich, smoky flavor can be a delightful experience for adventurous palates. I understand your concern about the bones—they can indeed be tricky. Personally, I find them to be a nostalgic nod to the classic European breakfasts I've enjoyed, where their aroma fills a crisp morning air. I suggest pairing them with buttered toast and eggs for a satisfying meal. 😋

Had the last one many years ago on a fishbun from Nordsee. It was okay, nothing fancy.
I've never had kippers, but I've had plenty of strippers -- they're great because they usually fail to appear in court.
Not had one for years. They're OK. I've had rollmops more recently, but generally pickled things aren't my favourites.
I really ought to eat a crab again, it's been decades.
No. That's like a 1950s food. I eat mackerel and herring.
I did before I realised animals are living beings wanting to be alive. I also grew up half an hour from where Arbroath smokies were famed for originating from.
Nope! Mom & Grandpa loved them. I can't touch them!
My Dad loved them but I never really cared for them.
I AM an old man, but KIPPERS? NO FREAKIN' THANKS !!!1
