You haven't seen hangry until your trapped in a room with 30 teenagers who may have a 2nd period or 8th period lunch (If they have lunch at all which was the case with almost all AP students) and they haven't eaten for hours and other teachers refuse to let them eat in class.

I ALWAYS Let them eat in class and I even had some cereal or other type of quick snack bar in my room from my days when I was teaching in a very poverty stricken district and the kids had no food at home.

It always stuck with me from my undergrad days that Maslows hierarchy MUST be followed in education and life. If your basic needs aren't being met then you can't pursue or perform higher order stuff.

Hangry is REAL. Especially teenagers. It's absolutely stupefying what they can eat for those growing bodies!! Ever see a 95 lb cheerleader flyer eat 5 slices of pizza? I have. It was not pretty... 😬😮

Honestly no. I'm pretty laid back when it comes to others and anxiety ridden when it comes to myself. A paradox if you will, but none of it is determined by my level of hunger. Lol
