I realize there's a few foods i like but by themselves aren't so good. for instance I like cucumbers but only mixed in with a salad. or broccoli but only mixed in with a soup or also a salad with dressing.

any foods like that for you?

Offal type stuff. I can't face it just slapped on a plate but if it's chopped and mixed with other stuff it's OK.
Dark chocolate, only like for some few specific sweets when it's not too strong.
Jelly is useless without peanut butter...

Hot dogs come to mind. I can't just eat the dog, it needs some sort of topping
Chili onions & spicy mustard on a potato roll. God it's been so long I deserve that!!

For example, when I smell the delicious smell of French fries, my mind immediately goes to ketchup and mayonnaise.
Another favorite of mine is a fresh simit with tea. Tea alone is nice, but when those two come together, the result is a real feast. These two add an even more special atmosphere during Ramadan. When you add cheese to it, you have a pre-iftar pleasure.
McD fries for topping McFlurry
Not dipping? Like on top & spoon it out?
Nop. I cut to small and put it on the top of my McFlurry like other ice cream toppings.
I can't eat seafood without a side dish.
