What's the most expensive dinner bill you've seen?

The highest I have paid on a Corporate card was $5,000. We were in Brussels celebrating and I and another guy were the same level and senior level pays but it was a tie. I said I would pay with my budget which was quite large. He turned around to the waiter and asked for cigars. Everyone grabbed $50 cigars, ouch. The women then left as they knew the smoke would be bad.

In Japan, they threw a party for me primarily but others were there. They shut down a bar and made a private party. It was $10,000 for open bar and the Geisha were extra and some “show girls” who don’t have the extremely personably skills of a Geisha. None were prostitutes. That though was the more inexpensive dinner. They had two more that were wildly extravagant. I have no idea how much they cost but the last one had to be $50,000. It was a wow!

Yes. The last one, the $50k, was a top of a high rise with huge floor to ceiling windows looking out onto Tokyo at night. It was beautiful. They had a display that you might see at a sea food store, a large ice filled display of lobster, lots of cooked lobster, fish, shellfish… everything. I didn’t not have any as I was walking around talking to many people with my 2 interpreters. During the meetings I had 3 interpreters who would translate over a radio to small earphones for the senior executives there that were the audience. Because I didn’t eat, I suspect others did not. They told me that the food would be thrown out and I asked that the venue staff be allowed to take it home but was told that health codes would not allow it so it must be thrown out. Top notch service, full bar service and amazing entertainment of Japanese drummers, singers and dancers. I was entertained the entire week. To them, this is a matter of pride.

About $3,000 for 4 people. I always took my friends visiting me from the US there. And yes drinks were a chunk of it. And yes, I did pay that tab. Several times in fact. Was it worth it? Yeah, sort of. The memories. It was an overall experience. High end restaurant overlooking the Caribbean. No children allowed. No electronics or cameras allowed anywhere on the grounds. Formal dress code. Wait staff wore tuxedos. Reservations only. Never had to deal with crowds or waiting for a table. Great view as sunset transitioned into evening. You could wander down to the beach before dinner or wander luxuriously landscaped grounds with an after dinner drink. I made it a point to eat there about once a month for about 3 years. Then I had to leave for business in another location somewhere else in the world.

Well sort of I guess. They learned my drink preferences and would deliver one the moment I walked in. Server would walk it to wherever I wanted to go... terrace, beach, gardens. LOL, not sure if they were just being helpful or they didn't trust me to not spill the drink walking around.
