Why do people enjoy the smell of food cooking and dislike the smell of someone’s uncovered scent?

why do people say “mmm, that smells good.” When they smell food cooking and it’s been seasoned?

Further, why do some smells please us and some aggravate us? Like simmering food vs body odor from another person?

More so the cooking because it’s just a bunch of BASIC ingredients. Animal species or junk from earth “ “. I say junk so it seems more basic, than glamorized food as we know it.

It’s a bunch of dried up plants and things added to a dead bird, or added to vegetables from the ground. Why do we compliment it so well and our mouth waters for it, when all it is, is a smell?

That’s the smell of dried plants being warmed up, upon a cooking bird. So why the awe or triggered hunger cravings?

Even more so because we enjoy the smell of food cooking but some food has DIFFERENT seasonings, so different SMELLS and tastes, so how do we know it’s food being cooked anyways? When we may have never eaten that type of seasoned dish?
