Olden days? Bollocks, I bet you've had them recently so when was the last time?
When did you last eat food off a cocktail stick?

Olive in vodka martini few months ago but I haven't seen those snacks on toothpicks a long time. I can't even remember when it was the last time. Somehow tapas and small canapes are more popular on drinking parties with appetizers. Pretzel sticks with poppy or sesame seeds or salty mini pretzel are rare but much more common than toothpick snacks and cheese hedgehogs.
Last time I had "food" off a cocktail stick was at a woke-left gala. They served:
1. Kelp Flake Crisp with Lab-Grown Chickpea Foam (on a paper cocktail stick)
2. Tofu-Cube en Paprika Mist with a Pickled Dandelion Petal
3. Beetroot Sphere and Cricket Protein Ball Duo
4. Air-Fried Tempeh Nugget with Artisanal Smog Reduction Glaze
Everything was taste-free and entirely politically correct — the flavors had been diversity-committee-approved, focus-grouped, and reviewed to make sure they didn’t accidentally identify as “bold.”
Again with your MAGA BS, dougie?
I'm surprised you didn't mention tRump this time.

They can be found in and around charcuterie boards. I’ve yet to decide if a charcuterie board is elegant or trashy. I keep seeing them at very nice events but still… something just doesn’t feel right.
One of my go to late night snacks
Yesterday morning I snacked on some. Had to go into the restaurant due to some staff issues and while I was there I picked up one of the skewer full with cheese, sausage, cherry pepper, olives. and cocktail onion which is what goes in our Sunday morning Bloody Mary's. Breakfast on a stick
I remember a delightful gathering at a friend's place where they served a charming array of tapas, and among them were these lovely morsels on cocktail sticks. There were combinations like chorizo with manchego cheese and olives, delightful bites that reminded me of my travels to Spain. It’s fascinating how such simple presentations can evoke a nostalgic sense of culinary sophistication. 🍢

Taking a journey back in time to a few months ago I had Shish Kabobs on a grill is that close enough to cocktail sticks?
We had a family dinner yesterday, where eating olives with a cocktail stick (we former colonists call them toothpicks) along with cheese and crackers was the appetizer.
It has been so long I don't remember. Best guess would be 20 - 30 years ago.
It may have been Christmas time or a bit after and it was pickled onions and they were rather yummy.
I think 30 years ago, I I had shish kebab on a stick. It was steak
I think it was on Easter when I visited my parents
