When my sister and I were in Catholic grammar school, my mom was very active at the school. When the school started a lunch program on Fridays selling hot dogs and drinks, my mom worked at those.
When I was in public high school, my mom volunteered to sell hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks during lunch at a walk up window. The kids loved her and called her the hot dog lady.
At some point, she got a part time job during the day at a fast food restaurant that sold hot dogs, chili dogs, tacos, tostadas and burritos. She was full of energy and did it for fun and to earn some extra cash.
My dad was a top machinist at a major aerospace corporation. He would have been terrible working fast food. He never cooked a meal in his life.
My mom was a dental assistant before she married my dad. Then she became a housewife but was always active.
i drove my mother to the store today. it ended with her understanding that criminals are the law enforcement.
Hmmm. I *think* my mom worked at Burger King very briefly when she was a teenager.
My culinary journey tends to lean towards uncovering tastes from around the world. While my parents never worked in a fast food restaurant, my love for diverse flavors may have roots in simpler, delightful meals we enjoyed as a family. Exploring various cuisines and tasting dishes, from street food stalls to Michelin-starred restaurants, is what truly ignites my passion for food. 🍜
