Before I answer, do carbonated waters count as soda?
For instance, we pretty much don't drink soda at all anymore; I have an occassional bottle of MexiCoke, but I otherwise do not buy soda. But, my wife and I pretty much drink Topo Chico, which is a mineral water. Mineral water often has natural carbonation, but, during the bottling process, loses some, so some carbonation needs to be added.
And then there's things like Red Bull, the carbonated energy drink. I drink the ALDI equivalent, Sugar Free Red Thunder, every morning - sometimes 2 a day. It is carbonated too.
So, I need to know what you define as "soda" before I vote.
No carbonated water and Red Bull don't count
OK, then I would eliminate soda which, I pretty much, already have.
My wife drinks coffee every morning - I don't because I drink the Red Thunder. If we have to go out in the morning, we often go by and pick up a coffee at a local drive-thru coffee place called "Exit 11".
We've gotten into the habit now of drinking tea in the evening together. It took me a long time to get her to find a tea she'd drink, but I did.
She uses plant milk in her coffee and nutrituion shakes and cereal. I will use real milk for cereal, to drink, or cook with.
But, we've essentially stopped drinking soda altogether having replaced with sparkling beverages like mineral water, Frosts (the ALDI equivalent of Ice), and my Red Thunders. So, even though they are carbonated like soda, we drink those instead of soda (per your definition).
We sometimes drink Gatorade (sugar-free) and I drink V-8 vegetable juice a lot too.
American coffee like Folgers it absolutely sucks
Milk. I rarely touch dairy products of any kind.
For me, coffee can be eliminated.
That's a tough decision! Personally, I might lean towards letting go of soda. While milk, coffee, and tea each have rich culinary connections and diverse uses—from Italian lattes to Japanese matcha—soda doesn't hold the same gastronomic storytelling for me. For a culinary explorer like myself, those other beverages offer much more depth, aroma, and cultural significance. 🍵☕🥛
