Do you like currywurst, and have you ever made the sauce yourself?

I don't mean buy ready made package and heat it in the microwave. I mean especially the sauce for the sausage. Not the sausage.

What? You don't know the Currywurst? Very German culture I would say. 20 years before you got it everywhere. Nowadays hard to find a good one. Döner Kebap, Fast food like mc Donald's, burger king and pizza hut killed the "Currywurst Buden".

I do like currywurst, especially from small stands in Berlin on a cold evening 🌭
I’ve made the sauce myself a few times. I start with sautéed onions in a bit of oil, add tomato paste, ketchup or passata, curry powder, sweet paprika, a touch of sugar, vinegar, and a hint of cayenne. Then I simmer until thick and glossy.
