My first thought: What? In-N-Out Burger isn't a restaurant, it's a fast-food chain lol
Then I checked what defines a restaurant, which is cultural. In my language, it's defined as an eating establishment with table service, with food generally cooked by a chef, also with table reservations implied. It seems to be the case for British English as well. But not in US English where every eating establishment seems to be a restaurant.
So what I call a restaurant seems to be what US English calls a family restaurant, a fine-dining or a full-service restaurant. I don't really have a favorite one because restaurants come and go, any restaurant I liked 10 years ago has probably disappeared by now. About fast-food chains or local snack bars, I couldn't name one because it would be like naming my favorite supermarket lol, it wouldn't make sense to me.
You are a master over thinker 😄
It is difficult to pick one favorite. For Oriental cuisine, the Top Pot and Korean Barbecue satisfies my Chinese wife's yen (pun intended) for from from the East. For steaks, my go-to place is Ted's Montana Grill; it's a good balance between price and quality, the the food is very consistent. For Italian, we have a local mom-and-pop that is outstanding: Santioni's.
All these sound delicious
This vegetarian restaurant in my city. It a pay-by-weight buffet. All the food is made from scratch. Their menu options is seasonal because they get their produce from the local farmers. There's a hot buffet where you can try so many vegetarian dishes. My favourite is the Spiced Indian Dal. So good and comforting. The staff are very friendly and they literally don't care if you ask a million questions.
That’s sounds delicious and cool 😊
Lets go check it out lol
Haha yes 🙌
If @Still-alive is paying I am going.. or what do you think @queenofcardio 😌

Whenever I return to Tokyo, Japan, I often crave for the Seafood Buffet in Shinjuku, Ginza for their wide assortment of meats and seafood such as their delicious crab legs.
However, if I stayed home, I would take a short drive to local Mastro's Steakhouse for my usual dry-aged bone-in ribeye with lobster tails and many other dishes and beverages.
And, yes, In-N-Out is my favorite burger chain, too!
High five 🙌
My favorite is a tiny izakaya in Tokyo near Shinjuku Station 😋
They grill yakitori over binchotan charcoal, and the smoke perfumes the whole alley. I remember sitting at the counter, watching the chef brush tare sauce on skewers, sipping cold sake while jazz played softly. The food was simple, salty, and perfect, and every visit felt like sharing a secret with the city 🌆🍢
@James The Foodie next time let’s go together 😊

The Restaurant at the end of the Universe! 😊
Wowzza 😄
And I meant to add that any actual restaurant close to us is about 30 miles away so, we don't go out to eat much. 🤣
In and out burger, it means miss sel⭕⭕na goes in, have her burger ready than running out 🤣🤣
My favorite isn't known worldwide but in my country it's 5 stars, i like everything about it, the taste, care, atmosphere, view, hospitality... etc

I love steaks 😋
Kim Wah. A Chinese/Japanese restaurant near here.
I love Asian food 😊
I rarely go to restaurants, they are too expensive in here, I prefer eating at home.
I prefer eating at home too but I go to restaurants from time to time
I get it, I like Italian, Chinese, Indian, and Mexican restaurants. They have great options for vegetarians.
I enjoy fine dining. I don't really ever eat at chain restaurants that much or fast food joints. There is a restaurant in my city called Il Terrazzo and the food there is exceptional. It's been around for 30 years - there is so much history in the place it's just the best
Oh you’re definitely a west coast gal liking In N Out lol.
mine constantly changes but right now its probably this cafe that opened up near me. They serve these yummy sandwiches and salads there that are delicious. I got this portabella mushrooms sandwich with swiss cheese. Sooo delicious lol 🤤
There is a place in the next town I have been going to since I was a kid. It is right on the river and has a nice patio in the summer. It has grest seafood and also grest burgres and
That is funny. If we are talking chains, Five Guys, Red Robin, Chili's.
I like Chili’s
The only thing I don't like is their Chili, lol
A local place called Gavi. As for chains, I guess BJ's is fairly known in most states.
I feel absolutely best in a classic Czech restaurant - classic, simple food at reasonable prices and excellent Czech beer to go with it. Definitely not a chain and certainly not fast food.
Bob Evans
They have great breakfast, great coffee, and usually great service.
Their lunch and dinner offerings are a bit plain Jane, but still good.
Red Steer and Greeican Key. They are both closed now.
Zabb Thai Cuisine. The food is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and it is fairly close by.
Waffle House is in top five worse places with rats and cockroaches. I have never eaten there and I am still alive
I guess White Castle , they have same product over time. Culver's is good but too far for me.
Cattlemens really good food
