If you have a traditional Christmas pudding what do you normally serve it with?

If I said, "mince pie" in the summer you'd think of a pie filled with minced beef and gravy. But come December thoughts turn to sweet ones made of dried fruit.

It gets confusing and mistakes can lead to disappointment. But not to worry because here in Wales we've long solved the problem with the "Pastai Penfro" a delicious pie made from minced mutton and dried fruit allowing you to savour the delights of both worlds.

But would you eat it?

Both are common side dishes but I reckon cauliflower cheese is more popular this side of the Atlantic and macaroni in the States. Personally, I think the latter is a waste of good cheese and little more than fodder to sustain the masses.

Thoughts?

When most people think of plain ice cream, they think of vanilla. However you can buy flavourless ice cream. The photo shows one brand that does both with the flavourless on the left.
So, have you ever had flavourless ice cream, and if not, is it something that appeals?

There are two types of gingerbread, the soft biscuit type you use to make gingerbread men, and a type of cake. But when you think of gingerbread which type comes to mind first?

Fun fact, the first recipe didn't contain ginger. The name was a joke because you laughed at people who said "Oooh you can really taste the ginger in it" some British versions continue this tradition.
