Are older women threatened by younger women?

My girlfriend is 27 years old and occasionally we will go to a hardware store to pick up items. There's this very pretty girl that works there and she's very nice and sweet. Usually when I go I bring my younger brother because he has a crush on her, but sometimes I bring my wife and she treats this girl really bad and gets an attitude with her. She says she doesn't like that girl even though they look like they can be sisters. Just the other day I brought her there and she snapped on the girl for looking at her funny. She actually confronted the girl about it. Most of the time the girl remains polite, but this time she started taking shots back so I sat there and defused the situation. My wife isn't usually like this. Is it a girl thing or something else?

Ugh, women are terribly insecure. Its so sad. I'm not intimidated by other women because I love to embrace what makes me unique as an individual, my beauty, my personality etc. ALSO, inevitably everyone will age...hopefully...unless you die.

Sounds like your wife is jealous, catty hormonal or something else. Either way, there is no excuse for being rude.

And no, thank god all women are not like this. Some are secure in who they are.

27 seems a bit young to start being threatened by younger women, even if you are younger than your girlfriend. It does sound like your girlfriend is jealous or threatened by this girl, but I don't think it would be because of her age. It's probably because she is pretty.

Whether it is age or this girls good looks, your girlfriend sounds pretty insecure.

she might think you like her not your brother, she is extremely threatened. youve heard all the guys here say completely self confidence shattering nasty stuff about how women become worthless the older they get and once a woman hits a certain age she is ugly and worthless. they say it elsewhere online too like women never find out or read whats being said about them then take it to heart

Absolutely not. Today, many older women who take supreme care of themselves are still beautiful in their 50s, 60s, and beyond. Quite often it is younger women who envy older women who have their looks, lives, money, and relationships together. Older women have been there and done that with being young, and most older women I know feel somewhat sorry for today's younger women. I have heard more than one older woman say that she wouldn't want to be young in today's world.

Did you ask your spouse why she was behaving jn that way? When women did something like that out of the blue usually is due to jealousy or insecurities.

Yes it sounds like she is jealous, maybe she noticed that you think the girl is pretty and nice and this made her mad

Is she your gf or wife? Your partner sounds very insecure about herself and you should set her straight.
