+1 ynot something i would do. I cannot judge it because i agree with you. people having fun doing it and there's nothing wrong with it. And i don't think it's a turn off for everyone, specially when done in the right place it "shouldn't" be a turn off, because what do you expect a girl do in a party? stand there and be fabulous? no, i think people who complain about it very much can't take a bit of sexually teasing.
in the end, it's something that's not "classy" for sure, and i think it's better when black girls do it with their bigger butts because its origins is African and i saw Arab traditional dancers do something similar too.31 Reply- +1 y
I wish most people would use your logic. The world would be way smarter.

+1 yPersonally, I think it's ridiculous. It just looks trashy. (Note: I am NOT saying you are trashy, just stating that twerking looks that way in my honest opinion). I just don't see the point in it and it doesn't even look like real dancing to me.
56 Reply- +1 y
Having fun. That's all I see it as.
- +1 y
Okay. That's fine if that's how you view it.
- +1 y
@update: you're the one who asked for peoples' opinions on twerking. I haven't seen anyone personally attack you. People have just been giving their honest opinions on this "dance" move.
- +1 y
Look at the annons 37 minutes ago. Starting with ew.
- +1 y
Okay. That's her opinion of twerking. I wouldn't interpret that as personally attacking you but, I can see why you may be offended by it. However, that's just one answer of the many here.
- 8 mo
I can't knock it because I'm an 80s baby and I remember the females doing a move called and I quote "Doing The Butt"
+1 yNot my kind of thing. All this hype about it, I dont get it. there's better dances.
62 Reply- +1 y
I get it. It's not for everyone.
- +1 y
looks like you need a big butt to pull it off:P hahaha wow that was nothing
I don't find it offensive, but it does strike me as tactless, unclassy, and a turn-off. I was once considering getting into a relationship with a pretty brunette with a high libido who was down with having sex early in a relationship and she wanted a relationship with me (I just had to say yes) and she ended up twerking and grinding against me in the middle of a skating rink, which was so unappealing and embarrassing that I decided against having a relationship with her. For me, twerking is a big no-no.
75 Reply- +1 y
I want you to picture a guy that is wearing boxers and he is gyrating and popping his hips energetically so his penis flings up and down, side to side, and round and round, all while pushing his lips out in an exaggerated kissy-face, and he is doing this, not as a private show for his lover only, but is doing this in public with the full intent of catching the attention of every woman in the room. If that guy was your lover, would you not be completely embarrassed to be seen with him? To be known as the lover of "that guy"? Then why would you expect a man to feel any different about a woman who does the same thing with her sexual assets? Why should he want to be known as the lover of "that girl"?
- +1 y
If you're in a relationship that's completely different though. I think it's real trashy for a girl to have a boyfriend or husband and be twerking in the middle of a bunch of guys. Also that isn't every girl who twerks or booty shakes or whatever. They can party with friends and twerk for entertainment. My point here is that not every person who twerks is trashy without self respect or grungy.
- +1 y
If you met the guy I just described at a party and he was single, you would not think that his behavior was the slightest bit trashy? If he had an identical twin who was opposed to twerking his penis in front of crowds, and they both expressed interest in having a relationship with you, and (for the sake of the thought experiment) you had to choose one of them to have a lifelong relationship with, which one would you choose?
- +1 y
I might choose the one making a fool of himself. at least it shows he isn't shy and he isn't afraid to embarrass him self. But unlike twerking swinging your penis isn't a dance move. So your point isn't completely proven but i get what you're driving at. I just feel like judging someone based on them cutting loose and having fun is basically like judging them for grinding on you when you ask them to dance. Because again twerking is like grinding except there is no guy behind you.
- +1 y
I think there is a difference between, on the one hand, cutting loose and having fun, and, on the other hand, making oneself into a sexual object to be used to flame up lust among a crowd of people. Does that really need to be done for someone to cut loose and have fun? And I agree that grinding is like twerking except with a guy behind the girl, but that makes a big difference: he blocks the sight of all the other guys, which means that she is not flaming up lust among a crowd of people. Mind you, I'm not a big fan of grinding either, but it doesn't bother me to the same degree as twerking does.
+1 yI honestly don't see why all of a sudden people call it trashy and such. From what I know and seen it's been out way before our time there was really no name to it. I'm from the islands so I'm pretty use to it.
Personally I don't find it a turn on but dancing is dancing and if you have fun doing it then shit, have fun. If you go to a party go to have a good time, move how you want, and feel what's natural.
Like the saying goes, dance like no one is looking.

Yeah, I got down voted for it but it's cool. Guess i'm the minority here aha
- +1 y
Lol and that's perfectly fine! You got most helpful opinion at least.
- +1 y
I feel like I need to call a time out for all the guys who say they wouldn't be interested in a girl who twerks... I mean come on.. Shakira, Beyonce, Rihanna. Now I know at least 1 of these guys on this list wouldn't pass up that chance..
- +1 y
Exactly. Like seriously... people are backward.
- +1 y
@iUnderachieve, those girls are millionaires. They're not exactly in the same category of girls as the ones that people here are talking about, so it's a flawed analogy. At any rate, the question is not whether they would accept those millionaires, but whether they think those millionaires would be more appealing as lifelong partners and mothers if they weren't twerking in front of crowds of people.
- +1 y
I don't think money would play such a huge role because I've met multiple people who "twerk" by the majorities definition of it but you wouldn't even expect it yet guys of all different cultures flock to them. When people call it trashy and classless though.. well this is why I kind of use those celebrities for the analogy. If that makes sense.. these people are idolize and some even humble and do it just for fun in front of large crowds. Whether it may tarnish there name or not it doesn't define them as a person now does it? This is where I was trying to lead it to i guess.
- +1 y
You're talking about teenagers and young kids here, now of course there are multiple variables on why there can be such a high rate in being unmarried but also like a said different cultures do this "twerking" thing and it seems to be natural and accepted. Of course they have no issues being married but if you want to generalize and point out a specific crowd well.. by all means I can't stop you. People only see what they hear.
Also yes I know a few people who are great at twerking and are now married.

43 Reply- +1 y
Exactly... They are one in the same thing. Guy's commenting here are acting as if whenever they meet an attractive girl at a club they would be immediately disgusted and not even dance with her.
- +1 y
lol its the internet so you're going to get some outlandish answers, I mean twerking or a girl backing her butt up against a guy is extremely common, the rule and not the exception, at least from my experience. So go head girl, twerk, twerk, twerk that ass =]
- +1 y
Lol! I love that song. & don't worry none of these guys are going to stop me from having fun. Guy's still talk to me. They still approach me. I still date. So idgaff.
+1 yI'm sick at tweeking, it's fucking hard to do though. I only do it when I'm just playing around with my friends as a joke or if in really drunk.. But never in a sexy way just as a piss take really. People don't appreciate how fucking hard it is

why are you telling everyone who don't like twerking to shut up? that's not nice.

Because they're being rude about it
- +1 y
the QA asks what people's opinions are. People are just saying what they honestly think. Telling people to shut up, is rude IMO.
- +1 y
That's a nice opinion you have there. Come back in 20 years and maybe I'll give a shit.

Thank you! Jesus. They were being rude.

- +1 y
Hush, you're getting really annoying now
- +1 y
again, chill. don't be so serious.
- +1 y
lol why is it so important for you to defend twerking? I don't have anything to admit to you, you're the one who started this fucking fight my telling me to shut up, remember? You're the one bothering people here. Time for bed girl.
- +1 y
I think you're rude. This isn't a fight my sweet little dandelion seed. This is just me being bored. Thankyou for giving so much enthusiasm
- +1 y
I think you're even more rude. Because you attack people and telling people to shut up, even when we don't attack you personally. So you annoy people because you're bored. Real classy, aren't ya?
+1 yew. it's a dance move that shows no self-respect. it's like when monkeys walk around showing their big red butts. a girl with self respect wouldn't dance like that, like an animal.

if chilling means acting like an animal, then no thanks :)

- +1 y
wow I'm just wondering why you were so mad at me for voicing out my opinion. Did I hit a nerve? Do you twerk every weekend or something?
- +1 y
I'd hate to be like you. You take yourself too seriously.. Oh my god, not twerking, just once and I lose every ounce of self respect I have
- +1 y
I am only telling the asker what I think about the move. I'm not attacking the asker, just saying that I think the move shows no self-respect. If she couldn't accept negative feedback, then she shouldn't have asked for people's opinions.
- +1 y
No no no. If it was an a opinion it would have I think or in my opinion. You just wrote "a girl with self respect wouldn't dance like that" how the fuck would you know
- +1 y
I've gotten negative opinions left and right. You weren't just giving a negative opinion. You were attacking. I don't mind opinions but attacks are not welcome.
- +1 y
how am I attacking. I feel strong distaste about twerking, and that's what I expressed here. I didn't attack YOU.
- +1 y
I agree Miss Harakiri. Amazing how some people would stand up and fight so fiercely over a dance move lol
+1 yTwerking is fine with me. It can be funny or attractive. It only turns me off if it involves a person I don't find attractive (super flabby strippers are the worst sorry). I feel like the negative stigma has gotten bigger due to the terminology gaining much more popularity. Because I know many people don't mind grinding but don't approve of twerking...

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIts a lot better than "grinding" which is somehow more socially acceptable. At least twerking actually requires some skill. Lots of other dirty dances don't get the same criticism as twerking. I bet you can guess why. I personally would never do it, partly because I'm not any good at dancing.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yFirst I have to say it is very classy to twerk especially at parties and such. I always find it such a pleasantry to see someone twerk at a get-together. I also think it is so precious when a male does it.

That's understandable. She's your girlfriend. She shouldn't be doing that...
Opinion Owner+1 yI shouldn't be doing that lol no one should be. I am not the boss of anyone but that would be a huge turn off. Are you serious that you really do that at parties or are you trolling?
- +1 y
Every one is making it seem as if I'm making YouTube videos of me twerking lol.
Opinion Owner+1 yI actually don't think that is as bad as doing it in public or at a party. Someone help me out but does that make sense?

No! It doesn't! YouTube is way more public than a party...
Opinion Owner+1 yIt's a different venue and hard to put into words but I would rather find out that my gf did a twerk video on YouTube then go to a party and she start doing it. Maybe I'm nuts?

69 Reply- +1 y
Really? How?
- +1 y
most girls neither have the body nor the skill to do it right but apart from that, it´s just such an obvious sexual gesture... i mean if we guys thrust our hips back and forth on a party to show you what we´d like to do with you, you´d facepalm too.
- +1 y
Ohhhhh. I get it lol
- +1 y
lol i though, you were going to argue that it´s not sexual :D oh well
- +1 y
What's the point though? The way some people do it it comes off real sexual. And I mean I just have fun. I'm 18. How many 18 years are sophisticatedly dancing with they're friends? I get it people think it's trashy. But it's not like I'm a 30 year old woman doing it...
- +1 y
so a 18 year old guy thrusting his hips at some girl is "just having fun" too or is that awkward in your opinion?
- +1 y
Did I say twerking at some guy? No I didn't so I don't see your point...
- +1 y
ok then just not at a girl :D i just though its not an age thing. i mean 30 is still not that old :D

Dancing in a sexy way with a little booty shaking is fine but actual twerking isn't
Opinion Owner+1 yNot trying to offend people who do it. I just hate the act itself
- +1 y
I didn't realise you knew every black guys opinion on twerking
- +1 y
Oh that's right. You don't
Opinion Owner+1 yAren't you funny!
But nah its usually black guys who like it. Did I say each and every black guy likes it?
Opinion Owner+1 yAre you offended because you twerk orrrr
- +1 y
You kinda did. "Black guys like it though". I don't see a some or a few. It's okay, not everyone has the ass to pull it off though. I understand hun
Opinion Owner+1 yI'm sorry, I didn't know that I had to qualify each statement I make. Oh and go ahead and attack my body (not that you can see me? ) simply because I don't like twerking. I'm quite content with my booty though. But I see that you're really classy. I mean, you're defending twerking as if its your religion, then you attack me, when I never made a personal remark to begin with. Oh and that pussy eating gesture you're making in your pic is a prime example of your class
Opinion Owner+1 yClearly, "hun" you got some insecurities if you're so easily offended
- +1 y
That pussy eating gesture is a joke. I mean I didn't realise that if you want to be classy it means you can't have fun for fucks sake.
Opinion Owner+1 yFun is fine, I guess we have fun in different ways. I was never attacking YOU in the first place I just think girls at the club twerking is unappealing and then you lost it. I don't get it. But sorry if I offended
- +1 y
Finally. She apologises.
- +1 y
Now was that so difficult
Opinion Owner+1 yAre you joking? I didn't owe you an apology, I was trying to be decent. You owe me one for personally attacking me. Again, just like I sense a lack of class I also sense a lack of manners and maturity.
Opinion Owner+1 ySomeone who was like, not an immature brat would've said "its okay" at the least.
- +1 y
Well it's not okay with me. Maybe that means I'm immature but what difference does that really make. Will it change your life at all if I say it's okay? I mean seriously? No
Opinion Owner+1 yDid I say it would change my life? Tf.
Its called decency. If someone holds a door open for you does it change your life? No but its just human decency. I see that you can't comprehend that :(
Opinion Owner+1 yI'm rude? Lmao I apologized just to be polite and then you... you know what forget it I'm done
- +1 y
You shouldn't apologise to be polite. If you don't really mean it then why apologise at all. I think we've reached the peak of this now.
