When a woman says 'my friend'?

So I thought this woman was into me. She was not at work today as she had gone for an interview. Later on i saw her come on msn. I asked her how it went to which said well and that she was drained. She then said she would be back in the office next week. I said sorry I thought you were working from home. She said it's ok my friend. We chatted a bit more then she said she had to go and that she would see me next week my friend. Is this her stating that we are just colleagues and calling me friend to tell me that, that is all I am?

Bluntly, she was giving you a very blatant clue that 1. She knows you're interested in her, and 2. She's not interested in you.

It's easy to assume she doesn't know you're interested in her because your hope that she's interested will bend how you perceive things... She knows.

In my Psychology of Gender and Human Sexuality classes we went over studies that basically prove time and time again women, in terms of communicating, waaay out communicate men. Tiny queues like an intonation, or flick of an eyebrow are often overlooked or not even noticed by men. It's not that one sex is smarter than the other... It's just a simple fact, women are better communicators.

I mention this because it sounds to me like she's been trying to let you know... In subtle, almost unnoticeable ways that you won't find success in going after her... My best guess is that she finally just came out with it and dropped the term "My Friend" to politely get your attention and put it out there.

Yes, sweetly, I read all of her Sighs and Signs that she is just In it for friends only, 'Colleagues' Strictly and didn't want Any awkward moment to Mean Anything else with what it is.
Friends only And a good one... No fair weather friend at that.
