Why do we like the "musky" smell of our male partner?

I've asked a few girls if they like or dislike the smell of their man after he works for a few hours or at the end of the day when he gets home. All girls have said they like their partners smell. But if another guy is sweaty and musky (non-partner) then it's kinda gross or unattractive.
If it was a "animal instinct" kinda thing we would like that smell from every guy, not just our own man.
So explanations?
Also is it weird that I like putting my face in my bf armpit?

im not going to lie but I do like it to an extent. I just dont want anyone else smelling my man becasue I know they will consider it to be stinky. I like how he smells after he works out. Or does yard work. the sweaty smell. and im not sure if it is the actual smell that i like or if it is the fact that i associate that smell with him working hard but I like it and sometimes I think i want to hug him but at the same time im thinking that i want him to shower before i touch him.

HAHAHAHA duuuuude! At work I was talking about this with another girl. And we said the same thing. Not the smell of a sweaty man only; it's the smell of a hard working man.

I wouldn't let my bf shower after work though, first I wanted him all over me and then he could shower.

yes. Its like i want to jump him but then something in me tells me that i shouldn't and that its gross. It must be becaseu of society tells us that stinky people should go shower lol. A few times i do try to hug him and then he will be like "No, I am dirty, let me shower first" and then i will just follow him into the shower lol

It only happens rarely but I'm also guilty of smelling sweaty when I've had a really frustrating day at work.
I mean: when people are playing political games with you instead of cooperating, or when the technology let you down and you haven't been able to do a good job due to those 3 PC crashes and that slow server :-(
My after shave tends to hide it a bit but at 6 PM the effect of applying it at 7 AM is not sufficient anymore...

And girls also are more attracted to people they know (their partners) as opposed to stranger. It's the same deal with looking at a guy's dick. You probably wouldn't want to look at a strangers dick, rather someone you know

Not all BO is the same. Sometimes when I smell chicks (that is, when I'm not being creepy) I can tell which girls are chemically compatible or incompatible so to speak. Some smell compatible to the point of arousal while others smell completely incompatible and some smell a bit like family. It basically tells us about the other person's immune system so I reckon.

TL;DR - Pheremones basically.

i agree. People are not aware of how their senses work. Maybe some peoples noses are stronger than others but you really can be attracted to someones natural body scent/odor
