She stares at me and when I look back she slowly looks away?

There's this girl and I notice her looking at me quite often. I sometimes look back and when I do, she slowly and calmly looks away.
I sometimes keep looking after she looks away and when I do, she would look back :)
Absolutely blank faced and no face expression at all. Funny thing that she sometimes asks me "what is it?" after the looks back at me. Does she like me and why is she asking "what is it?" ?

(We actually talk with eachother, just that we have these stare down moments)

I think she's trying to get your attention, most likely the "what is it?" Is some sort of cover up for preventing an awkwardness between the stares... Actually I'm not sure I have a real explanation for the "what is it?" Lol But it seems like she's into you, or at least curious :)

This happened once when we were in the same car. I think I was the one looking at her and she asked "what is it?". That time in the car I just said "nothing".
I doubt that she does not know that I like her and I have a feeling that this is why she stares that much, but what would be a good answer to "what is it?" ?

Women send double messages a lot. On surface, "what is it?", Comes across rude but she was also sending message non verbally.

Your job is to quickly analyze whether her non verbal message supported her verbal one or whether it contradicted it.

Here's an example, jf she smiled when she made the comment it contradicted her statement then and may have been done to alleviate your embarrassment and perhaps get a result that ends different than you not saying anything to her
