Do you reckon it's normal that my GF has gone slightly awol?

Now I know you don't know my GF like I do, but I was hoping you guys could give me some advice.

We haven't spoken lately and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with her failing this maths exam at Uni?

I got into contact with a mutual friend, and he told me she hasn't spoken to him or anyone else as a matter of fact for quite some time. He's the one who told me she didn't do so well in the exam.

Not only that, but she has this project to hand in today too.

I tried texting her yesterday, but she didn't answer and then I tried calling her in the evening, but she didn't pick up.

What do you guys think?

She shouldn't ignore you like that and actually let you know, doesn't it just seem fishy that she's telling this guy friend things but not you? he seems to know more about what's going on in her life than you do, even he was the first to find out she failed her maths exam, what is wrong with this picture?

Not really, because they're in the same maths group, and had the exam at the same time. He obviously just asked her if she did well and she probably went "OK" and walked off.

I wouldn't really call it "ignoring", I think it's "avoiding" people in general. I would do the same if I failed at exam: I'd isolate myself and get away from everyone.

My GF suffers from severe anxiety, and is taking pills to contain it.

Well she should tell you "babe i'm sorry i failed my maths exam i need to really put my head down and study so i can pass it next time round, hope you can understand", but instead she's ignoring everybody.

I think she's just really stressed at the moment. Give her some space then try to contact her again in like a day or two. If she still doesn't respond, then be concerned. Also the way you worded your question reminded me of Karl from Sling Blade

Yeah she's really stressed. I'll wait a bit and hopefully she'll calm down when she gets her coursework and project out the way.

Well you're not a University any more, and you're probably talking about real life jobs here.

She has the knick of isolating herself when she gets really stressed out.

Because I've graduated from college and have a 'real job' doesn't mean I don't get stressed or take pills for anxiety.

This is apparently how she deals with shit. Move on or deal with it. You won't be in college forever.
