Do girls like goodnight texts?

I was texting a girl in my class yesterday and a couple hours after our conversation I said "Goodnight (her name)" "sorry if I woke you up". Would that make her happy? I like her as a friend (I used to like her) but I wanted to make her happy because I haven't talked to her for a really long time. She never responded but would she think that I like her? Also should I tell her good morning or just wait for her to respond?

If you only like her as a friend, do not send her good night and good morning texts. I recently got this from a friend and it creeped me out to be honest. Mostly because, it's really only something you do when your in a serious relationship, and you say good night and good morning because you have been thinking about them for a prolonged period of time.

One time I was texting my crush, and she said her phone was running out of battery, then she stopped replying, I said "okay well good morning since that's when you'll turn your phone on again". Then she texted me back and it was still night and it ruined it.
