I'm Yukito Hanayaki, age 24. Well, I HAD a girlfriend before. I made so many sacrifices for her. I never though of sacrificing for my own personal benefit/my own desires whenever she's with me. It's like when she's around, I don't know what could make me happier, drinking beer or flirting with hotties/babes can never be better than being with her.

Because of all that I was not able to take care of myself. Now, I have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) Well, it's not that big of a problem but the pain is killing me. I'm on a medication and healing kinda quickly.

I met her in the University 2 years ago. She was 18, and I was 22. Since I was an exceptional student, I graduated early. I was having difficulties with getting a good job, so I took my Dad's old job (He's the co-owner of the school) as a teacher in Arts and Japanese Culture. I was teaching a class which was all girls (I was lucky lol) I NEVER tried to flirt, so don't think that.

What happened was, a girl (my gf's bestie) told me about rumors that Charlie (my gf) had a huge crush on me. I couldn't believe it at first, but I did notice her actions around me.

After 3-4 months she asked me to be her personal tutor at home. Well, I did say yes. I went to her apartment nearly every week since then. Our relationship as a teacher and student became tighter. She even asked me to be her date at her prom.

We then hanged out more. We went on small dates, like hanging out to chat. Then she soon confessed and asked me to be her boyfriend. I was a bit shocked even though I already expected it to happen.

I agreed, but I was worried. I avoided her sexual desires and mine. I NEVER did have sex with her. She's still a child, and she's MY STUDENT. I then loved her even more each day.

I was slightly rich, so I always bring her only to the BESt restaurant. I paid everything for her, from taxes, to grocery, to clothes, to stuff, to rent, to etc... I always felt like I was spoiling her.

Until now, I do. Things went well ti'll I found her making out (nearly having sex) with some guy in her apartment. I found out she was now working as a prostitute. And dated this guy for free.

What was worst was she was pregnant. Her parents kicked her out when they knew. Any guy would leave her for that. But I felt guilty for her, and let her stay at my house (including her dumb, lazy bf) I continued paying her food, stuff, and the rest of her basic needs. Next year I will pay for her baby. The milk, toys, etc... And the lazy boyfriend does nothing. I help him get a job but he wastes all the chances.

As a man I'm wasting my life with her, but as her teacher, I am responsible for what happened.

I should've taken good care of her, and watched over her. Plus, I'm already having trouble with my Dad, he was confined in the hospital after he got a stroke. My sis, Akino, age 19 is in college and my other sis, Yunata, age 28 is having trouble with her job including me. My mom is getting even more sick these days. I sacrificed myself for her.

Everyone makes sacrifices in relationships, sometimes more than the other but it does happen. I agree with the guys, sometimes they do bend over backwards for their girl. Only if they are a real boyfriend do they make the necessary sacrifies to keep her happy and if she loves and appreciates him she will do the same. Not everyone can grasp the concept of its a 50/50 thing. BUT IF YOURE A GOOD GUY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK because there's a girl out there that appreciates all you do and hopefully she does the same for you.

I hope you're not trying to imply:

"unless guys make sacrifices, they don't truly love their girlfriends" or;

trying to suggest:

"if you truly love your girlfriend, then you'll make sacrifices for her"

Considering both people have a limited life-span, and limited time to allocate to things they want or people they care about, unless their needs and wants are in sync; there's going to be a conflict of interest. That means that when YOU are making a sacrifice, he is getting a benefit. When HE is making a sacrifice, YOU are getting a benefit. If one actually is, or is expected to make sacrifices for the other just for the sake of "proving their TRUE LOVE" or comforting some lingering insecurities about the relationship; then those are sacrifices not worth making.

- I'm excluding spending time, caring, emotionally supporting, etc (b/c both people do that).

- Taking on emotional risk; approaching, initiating, leading, etc.

- Sacrificing dignity and pride, and even masculinity.

- Paying for stuff like dates, trips, etc. (even though both are human & both work; hopefully)

- Sacrificing their dreams & goals in order to assume the role of "the financial rock" & "long-term provider". (Psychology Today: Boys don't grow up with the dream of finding a "husband" to "take care of them". Instead, they're faced with the very real expectation of being that husband and being able to provide for and take care of both himself and others.)

Personally, I don't watch sports. I go to the gym or spar with my guy friends. So assuming I hear or feel my cell vibrate, I can take a break or just stop all together, and talk about it.

If I "don't see how" it's offensive, I'd ask her to elaborate. If I think she has a point, I'd make it a point with my brother. If I think she's being unreasonable, I'd try and help her understand why what she thinks is a big deal, is actually meaningless.

That depends "why" she "wants" me to come. I have things to do with my time too. If I've got nothing else to do and it's just for company, sure. If I have other stuff to do, probably not.

NOTE:

My willingness to make sacrifices for those I care about is very high; when those sacrifices are necessary. My willingness to make sacrifices to "prove" my "true love", is not just "very low"; it's ZERO. My tolerance for "tests" that call my "love" into question is ZERO. And if I feel she's doing those things just to "test/see how much I care/love her"; no matter how small, I won't do it.

Scenario 1) I would mention that I really enjoyed the game and ask if she could wait until half time where I would (truthfully) call her back to help her sort out her emotions. I wouldn't drop what I was doing or what I enjoyed because of a "bad day".

Scenario 2) I would talk to her about finding it offensive, if I thought it was rediculous that she finds it offensive, I would acknowledge how the feels and invite HER to talk to him in a polite tone. If it truly was offensive, I'll make my brother talk to her about it and sort things out while I am present.

Scenario 3) I would make sure my resposibilities are fine with that and then join; obviously, if I had work or school in 15 minutes - it doesn't make much sense to drive down town to a grocery store to postpone my future for a bag of potatoes and being by her side.

Sacrifices:

I bent over in every way for an ex, only to find out she was "sleeping with" my (ex)best friend. Here's your list:

- Once a month breakfast in bed because I wanted to spend time with her and was hella busy

- Constant conversations on how she feels and what we could do on that.

- Communication of how my day was going to keep her involved of how I was feeling each day

- Continued Cycles of fun; Swimming together, birthday parties, reading together, etc

- Took her to work when her car broke down

- Held her when she felt unappreciated

- Made love with her when I was recovering from an accident and barely could move because she "was horny"

- Gave her money to buy groceries (we lived together and it's supposed to be 1/2 and 1/2)

etc

Your girlfriend should've appreciated you more. What have women done for their man?

-He had a #2 accident after a Chipotle run. I washed the stuff out of his pants.

-Cooked for him even though he was on vacation and sitting at home everyday while I was working and going to class afterwards.

-Encouraged his guitar passion.

-Listened when he complained about his job.

-Babied him when he was sick (with medicine, soup, etc.).

-Did things that he liked (go to baseball games, etc.)

-The list goes on

What I want it to seem like is this: "What do we do for EACH OTHER"

- This allows both parties to feel appreciated instead of one person feeling unfulfilled in the relationship.

By asking the quesition I did (What have women done for their man) I have allowed the QA an opportunity to collect on her own thoughts and opinions of what applies in her relationship. There are always ways to improve; however, we need to understand both sides to find those ways.

Based off of list of things you have done for your man (and similarly with myself); most of these things we offer are very one-sided with very little to no meaningful, relationship style, attraction being formed.

In the future try things that include him like:

Walking in the park while communicating goals

Go out to dinner on occassion or help him make dinner at home

Watch a movie while cuddling

etc

I hope it helps - just little anecdotes that I noticed which help my own relationships

I'd drop anything for her if its possible for me... One time she wanted to see me before I was together with her, one time up the town, so I ran four miles to spend about 15 minutes with her. My friends don't really like it sometimes, because I always pick her over them, but whatever...

Um I have sacrificed a LOT including my dignity with my last girlfriend. I woke up at 6 am and drove over to her house on valentines day to wake her up and make her a pink latte before she had to work. I went to jail for her. Changed my plans on my 21st birthday because she got a flat and needed me to change her tire. Spent the first day that I had off of work in almost two weeks flushing her radiator and fixing her water pump. Watched dumb chick movies and listened to dumb girl music. She really took advantage of the fact that I would always be there for her no matter what. I guess the way I look at it now though can be summed up in this cheesy line: "If I had a million dollars, I wouldn't give you one penny...But I would give you my heart."

1. I'd separate and talk to her. But if I start to get the impression that she's just upset that I'm away or enjoying my guy time, I end the call.

2. Touch her hand and give her a look to tell her she needs to not make a scene about it. Then later talk to her about it.

3. If I'm not busy with something that is inconvenient to quit, then sure. If so, then I ask what she wants me to come with her for.
