In which case would you want to spend money on your girlfriend and give her cash? What would she be like and what would make you want to do that for her?

What would she be like? Are you talking about a fantasy girl or a real person?
How about if we really hit it off and I liked her a whole lot then, what would I do for as a result to show my affection toward her? I'm thinking that that may be what you actually meant but, if it's not, feel free to set me straight.
Well, in addition to being the type that I'm interested in, she'd have to be polite to others without being to nice. None of that eager to please junk, she'd have to be a compassionate person who enjoys helping those less fortunate, have a love for babies and animals, be fun to be around and full of life. For this I would serve her the world on a silver platter. Nothing would be too good for her. I would treat her like a queen.

If I had the disposible cash, and knew she wasn't in it for the money, or if she was modest, I would buy her clothes and French manicures. It would be for my benefit, since I love sexy heels and dresses. A few for special occasions would be hot. I could imagine going out with her and let her go to the dressing room. Let me pick stuff out for her to try and check her out in different outfits. Might make her feel sexy, who knows...

I wouldn't laude her with gifts or hand out my credit card though...

I think that men are not obligated to do this but yes some men want to take care of their women financially and noting is wrong with that and nothing would be wrong with that if the roles were reverse. I think in order for someone to do this without trying to buy their love is they just genuinely WANT to do this because they love and care about them
