Wearing risqué clothing, do you really believe women do it for confidence?

Someone wrote a take about some things girls do and one of them was, "not to a assume a girl who wears risque clothes is doing so for attention" Then in her explaination, she said "girls do it to feel confident and get out of their comfort zone". I personally, don't buy that because some clothes you just know the person wearing it knows that they'll get looks and stares. People don't usual want looks and stares (for the wrong reasons), to boost their confidence.

I'm mean you really going to tell me these people dressed like this for confidence reasons?

I mean, really? What part confidence involves wearing a white t-shirt with no bra and having your nipples show? Confidence my ass lol. I don't care how people dress, but I all ask is at least admit why you do it. I will freely admit, I layer my clothes and feel very uncomfortable if I'm not covered up it's just how I am. Myabe that's not the standard norm, but it's my norm and I admit it with no problems and no thoughts of changing that. So, I don't care if a women wants walk around half naked, not my problem but at least admit that you do it for attention because why else whould some dress like that?

If a man was wearing form fitting or revealing clothes would you think the same way? Sometimes when I question people in this way they show that they're more biased towards one gender and I just want to know your personal option on the matter. Society tends to sexualize women's bodies so much so people tend to judge them harsher than men.

To answer your question, i think women should dress on whatever makes them feel comfortable and beautiful. If you feel comfortable and beautiful dressing how you dress then continue to do so. Women don't deserve any kind of extra attention or harrassment based on how they dress.

I don't buy that they don't do it to get guy's attention. Like I said in that Take, if that was the case, they would keep dressing like that even in a relationship, but we all know that when a girl is in a relationship she dresses less revealing, and once she's single again, she brings out all those revealing clothes.

Some women do it for confidence and some do it because they just want to look good. The not doing it for attention thing is because people argue they assault and catcall because the person wore that outfit just to make them do these things. These people make themselves the victims because the real victims were "asking for it."

I don't understand it either. You can't wear almost nothing and then bitch about the fact that people are giving you attention (good or bad). It's like dangling a juicy meat in front of a lion, you can't be pissed afterwards when it bites your arm off trying to get the meat! There are consequences to every action!

I strongly doubt they'd wear those outfits if they were all alone inside where noone else could see them. So yes I think they do it for attention and I also assume girls who dress in over revealing clothes are more likely to be promiscuous.

I don't harass, catcall or bother women based on what they wear but I DO think how a person presents themselves says a lot about them and I Do make judgments based on it.

Agreed. They say you shouldn't judge a persob by how they dress, but that's BS, how someone dresses shows a lot about who they are, and we all judge based on looks, it's in our nature. It doesn't mean we're rigth, but we still judge.
Like Dave Chapelle said "if I dress like a cop, you're gonna assume I'm a cop. So if you dress like a whore, why am I wrong if I assume you're a whore?" (He didn't say those exact words, but that was what it meant. You can look up his video about this).

Give me a break. They do it for attention and I seldom oblige, especially when they are artificial looking. I am much more likely to compliment a natural looking girl who is dressed modestly.
