Why do you think girls are so passive aggressive?

I'm a girl with a very assertive personality. I'm very honest and I don't talk in circles, I get to the point. Yet, I notice almost all of the other girls I've come into contact with are terribly passive aggressive which couldn't be more annoying. I don't notice this with guys though, or mature, successful women, so I want to know, what makes girls and unsuccessful women so passive aggressive? I'm looking for opinions from girls, but guys opinions are welcome too! Thank you in adavce!

Oh. Guys can be just as passive aggressive, trust me. For guys, they're usually passive aggressive, I think, when active aggression would not be tolerated. For instance, when at work or by police. Although, I've known guys who can be just as bad as the worst PA chick. As for women, jealousy? Males sort of compete to establish dominance. Females might just talk shit to do the same. I'm not really sure.

You know, when it's a male, oftentimes females have no issue being actively aggressive, cause they know they're not going to get hit. So, guys have to be careful and respectful around other guys, cause every guy has that line, and If you step over it, you get popped. Females know most guys aren't going to hit them, so they don't mind attacking ruthlessly verbally or even physically. But, when it's another chick, passive aggression could be a middle ground: a way to attack without opening themselves up to attack. Maybe they just want to hurt someone cause they're jelly. Or just cause they feel insecure. Or cause their parents didn't raise them well. Or maybe that's just a natural female thing that some females rise above. Could be anything.

I'm not really sure. But, I've heard some of this said, and it makes and bit of sense, if not completely

I think it is the other way around. They are bitter and unsuccessful BECAUSE they are passive agressive.
nothing will get you more ahead in life than clear and assertive communication. I can't stand passive agressive people either, I get rather bitchy and sarcastic with them. It is just so funny to aggraviate them even more lol.

It's just so draining to deal with them though. I have a friend who is the definition of passive aggressive and it literally takes her 40 days and 40 nights just to say one thing. Like just tell me, are you upset, yes or no? Do you want to eat at this restaurant, yes or no? Do you want to see this movie, yes or no? You don't have to give me some "Well, you know..." answer I really don't have the time. You know what I mean?

Ahhh bullying, so you see some one not as loud as u and figure it's easy pray, but at the end of the day the bully us less productive in society. This here was very silly statement, u should have thought before you spoke.. but loud mouths rarely ever do.

I really don't see where my statement was silly or what I should have thought about before writing it. Please enlighten me with your wisdom.

You should read it again and try to understand what I said, before talking nonsense and acting all superior (ergo being a bully to me). However I'd still like to know what is so bad about my initial statement it that you would call ME a bully. You seem to be one of those people who will turn around and misinterpret what anyone says to fit your understanding.

personalities and character vary , this is you and your friends are the way they are. I know that the culture we live in North America is still promoting a certain image of women, are they influenced by that , yes to a point , I doubt we'd still find a majority of very assertive women , of the type you describe, to the point and successful ( your words) Its all good.

You see, I thought of that, but then when I see very successful women and women in my family, they aren't like that. Do you think it could have something to do with feeling inadequate?

Well like I said, MOST women have been conditioned to think that way. Not all. The women you're talking about could of taught themselves that just being blunt is better but I dunno. Inadequacy could be a factor. Could be because women are more the "read between the lines" kind of social than most men are.

from an evolutionary perspective due to less physical strength they should develop cunning, also socially they are nurtured to never want to be hated/unpleasant to others so they learn hypocrisy.
