Girls, this girl has liked me for a long time instead of moving on?

A girl has liked me for over a year, and yet we have hardly talked to each other. It all started out last year when we had our first college class together and she looked at me with full intent many times, and would always sit near me with her friends. A few months later though she seemed to have moved on as the semester ended. We did not have any courses together the next semester, so I did not see her at all except for one time, and that was when we were passing each other on a sidewalk. As she walked past me on the sidewalk she looked at me by the corner of her eyes. So apparently, I must have been on her mind, and even after months of not being in the any course together she still remembered me easily. During this current semester, she still seems very interested in me. At times I catch her glancing at me. She tried to get my attention while talking to her friends, and I think sometimes her friends spy on me. It seemed to be tapering off, until recently when we made strong eye contact for about two seconds into each others eyes twice in a minute, and it was her that initiated the glancing. Now we both look constantly at each other and I'm considering about making a move since I NOW KNOW some signs that girls give off when interested, unlike last year.

Those are just details. Here's where I'm getting to and want to ask: It seems to me that this girl must really like me or something else. Maybe there's something about me that she likes that she can't find in another guy? (Honestly, the only things I can think of is that we're both European, or she likes my looks) I thought girls move on pretty quickly if the guy they're interested in does not make a move, and I presumed that about her last year after a couple of months. But apparently I was wrong. So girls, what can you tell me about this girl? Why would she like me for a long time, even though I've not talked to her much? Does this say anything about the girl? (She does seem very picky and shy but outgoing)

well she's like me. i mett guy 9 months ago and we didn't see each other for 6-7 months and now we see each other 2 times a week but we still don't talk. ahah and im still interested in him and i don't look other guys at all.. and he's interested but shy and he still didn't make a move..

go and talk to her please.. she's interested in you really.. but she's probably shy like me and scared that you'll reject her or sth
I don't know i other girls think that.. but i always think that if is guy interested that he would find a way to talk to me.. maybe she think that too

In my opinion you should just go for it and approach her. I've liked a guy for over a year too even though he's never talked to me before, except once but it was Hi directed to a group with me in it. I still wait for him to approach me, and we stare at each other all the time :P Its up to him to make the move. If you really like her just go for it, why waste time? If she doesn't like you then you move one. But what if she does? She's been waiting a while!

I want to make the first move. It was one week ago that we both made deep eye contact twice for a few seconds. I did not want to make a move because I thought starring into her eyes would creep her out. The next day in the room I saw that she was looking at me and basically we both caught each other looking. But I still did not make a move because she was with her friends and I really don't want to approach her when she's with them. But is it bad that I did not approach her after I made eye contact with her? Its been a week since we made the long eye contact and I wonder if she was hoping I would approach her already. It's not too late is it?

No, but if you do not act quickly she will give up and assume you are not interested or playing games. But don't go overboard. My suggestion? Write a little note, keep it sweet, simple and short and somehow get it to her. She will likely smile and respond to the effort. Or private message her on social media.

She might be very picky about guys
