Girls, New girl keeps sneaking looks at me?

There is a new girl in 2 of my classes, and she seems to be shy. She never looks at me when we talk directly, and it sometimes seems like she ignores me. But, whenever I am not looking, my friends say she always seems to be staring at me. I have caught her looking at me before, and when we make eye contact she turns her head. The other day, i saw her staring at me on the other side of the street with her friend, and when we made eye contact she looked down, but her friend kept looking at me. If she liked me, why does't she ever talk to me? She stares at me from afar

Yes, from when we've talked she seems amazing, and i want to get to know her. She started acting like this and I thought i did something wrong
