We can all probably list male gamer stereotypes and probably have some picture pop up in our head when we hear male gamer. And of course there are different stereotypes depending on platform and game, but there aren't as many female gamers. And of course the fake ones do exist.But what pops into your head when you hear female gamer or hear a female in your comms?

In my experience there are 3 types of gamer girls:
Type A: Hot girls that play video games rarely and pretend to obsessed with them just to get more attention from guys.
Type B: Girls who are not very serious about video games and don't play very frequently. When they do, they usually limit themselves to very feminine games with an obviously female targeted audience. They also usually suck at any game they try to play that actually requires skill. (This type is the majority).
Type C: The hardcore gamer girl, and the only one that is actually GOOD at video games. Usually pretty unattractive as well, which defeats the whole appeal of "gamer girls".
I'm a gamer and I don't fit the gamer stereotypes at all, so I don't think of stereotypes when I hear of a female gamer, I just think of a girl that likes playing games. Though I do wonder if she's really a gamer, cause most of the girls I've heard say they're gamers, consider candy crush and the Sims as being a gamer -_- xD
@FlutteringFeelings Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with him. Being a gamer is more.. intense. I feel like a right of passage of being a gamer is somewhere along the lines of. 1- Some 13 year old kid has called you a fa***t, then tells you to kill yourself 2- You cry when the steam sales come because you know your pay check is going to that 3- You've screamed at the top of your lungs because of server issues or your shiternet
*Points at myself* :D I just think of how I am and the games I play. Though if another chick says she only plays halo or COD along with only xbox. I'm just going to give them this face. -_- The same goes for dudes like that too. My list of all the video games I've played so far are on my profile.

Also trying to talk to me while in an online game is almost impossible if i'm in a mission. No way will I risk typing because that will get me killed. Along with talking or listening to what others are saying for I'll be too focused on what I'm doing.
I squealed when I heard it was coming out. And yeah, I feel like my go to question for those girls are - "So you ever had a red ring of death?" Most of them think is some crazy drug cocktail or a sex position lol
In some games like skyrim and some others where they make it so you can't see any private parts. Even when they land upside down, unless you have a mod put on it but that just seems dumb. So I try to expose that kind of thing to prove you can still see something. So once when I had killed this female falmer, she landed upside down and actually showed her having a vagina. I took that as a rare thing to make the game do since that area is normally hidden. XD I know this sounds fucked up but it felt like a win kind of. :D
I love games. I don't know every name but put me in front of a system and i will know how to control and play the game like i've been running it for years. But Call of Duty is a good one because i played it with my brother and it was quite interesting.

sorry habbit whenever i see a gamergirl say that kinda stuff in league or wow i have to ask the basic questions that most gamers can answer. For instance if she said any Gen 2 game for a play station or xbox i would know she is lying and if she couldnt come up with an answer for n64 fast enough she most likely googled some
@ZenithDawn All good. I'll admit, because of my age and availability, I've never played on a N64. I've played on a few consoles, but I love PC the most. But I understand, I do see the stereotypical league (I refuse to play WoW I don't wanna get addicted) girl player who plays support and acts all hoe-ish. I'm a proud mid/supp player but I'm not gonna be cutesy and shit. We have a game to play and if you can't deliver or can't ADC my god I'm gonna yell at you lol. I also play other game and I think there are different degrees of gamers. I just wish there were less hoes on games -_-
there is 2 degrees a casual gamer and a real gamer. a casual plays few a real gamer plays all kinds of games and prob owns more games than he will ever need ty steam
@ZenithDawn Yeah, I wish I could play more games, but I don't have the time. But I have those friends that can just keep scrolling through Steam and have hundreds of hours on most games
It doesn't bother me to hear men or women. I grewup with video games, and I grew up with brothers. These girls trying to call games sexist and racist need to leave them alone. Those are the girls I don't like, especially phonies like anita sarkeezian.
Any girl using that label is a fake. Hard enough to trust females as it is but if she uses that then I will challenge her to name some non mainstream garbage that she has played. If all she says is Call of Duty or Minecraft... she is just an attention whore.
i Calls em as a i sees em. Attention Whores. How do i know this? They tell me they are female or they openly say they are female in a game with no mic or voice chat. almost all gamer girls i met where attention seekers they would start fights to get people to defend them they would flirt nonstop with the server owners of games or teamspeak to get modded. and the ones that deny not all do this and then go to feminist shit are attention whores and bitches oh the list goes on.
I think of a girl that has only played a couple of games in order to be more popular to guys. While I know that isn't always the case, it is typically the case for the women going out of their way to let guys know they are gamers.

That's cool, they understand the meaning of having fun, rather than watching some reality TV crap. They are usually more realistic, but also dreamers and creative. They can understand addiction to things that are apparently meaningless, but provide hours of fun. They also understand that video games are abput much more nowadays than they were when they first appeared, such as going through a story, being a character
No gaming isn't the one I call juvenile, I'm a gamer too lol.. What's juvenile is this whole separation of gamers on male and female.. When I play online I would come across female players.. So what? It's just another player I have to kill lol
Sorry for misinderstanding :) Personally I don't think people should care but in my own experience most gamers are like "omg jesus is real its a girl!!!" or "oh f****** slut". It's unfortunate. People should think more like you lol
I do everything I can to mute mics in games. I already spend all day speaking to people I hate, I don't want to go on a European server in my free time and have my ear yapped off by mouthy mainlanders in broken English. Get enough of that in LOL. Hell, get enough of that talking to Londoners.
I like female gamers, but only if they play cool games like Final Fantasy, SoulCalibur, Tomb Raider, Tekken, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Warcraft etc...
Personally I think girl gamers are awesome. It's a dealbreaker though if one of the following applies: A) They're faking it B) They play Xbox or PlayStation games exclusively C) They play games I particularly dislike like Call of Duty or something
It can be hot as long as she is average looking I would be more attracted to her but her being a gamer can only help so much with attraction lol its not like if Rosie o Donell all of a sudden started playing games I would be attracted to her lol.
Men who are gamers are just called "gamers", whereas women who are gamers for some reason need to be specifically called "girl gamers". So whenever I hear someone talk about "girl gamers" I just get irritated.
i think 'faker' you are a gamer, there is no such thing as 'female' gamer. you are either a gamer or not. female gamer does not exist. your vagina does not add to the fact that you game.

Sadly nazi clit'ler Anita Sarkeesian has ruined any possibility of females being taken seriously in the world of gaming.
Most likely plays console popular games, doesn't really dwell on pc or other typed of games. Although I have met many men who have beat that stereotype, it's just what I think :)
