I play video games sometimes. But of course I also watch anime, read fanfics, etc. You can just guess by my name what culture I'm part of, besides me liking to make PB&J recipes. I don't see a reason why women playing video games should be seen as a bad thing anyway. I've got a close sister who is a nerd and her boyfriend is a nerd too. They both love to play video games all of the time. They're a great couple and the boyfriend is like a older brother to me. We just don't have enough remotes for three players (i don't think they have enough multiplayer games anyway. but i won't tell them that). lol
Well, I am one so I think they're pretty cool. Lol! I also own a gaming/nerd bar. I'm more in to open world RPGs like fallout, mass effect, the outer worlds, and the witchery. One of my favorite vacations was when I went to E3 in LA 2 years ago. Before I owned my bar I was a director of operations at a tech company, so I think that fits your definition of girl gamer that you were looking for. 😁

I believe women that play video games often are either tomboyish or immature, depending on the age. Video games are mostly a guy thing, or more specifically, a boy thing. Girls, especially when they're young, usually don't play games. Instead, they often hang out with their friends and experience the best out the real world. Adult women that play games are likely immature and homebodies with poor social skills. If women aren't working, then they still spend time with friends and experience the most out of real life when they have the free time. A mature, busy woman wouldn't spend a good chuck of her time playing video games to be immersed a some fictional universe. It's usually the men that waste much of their life playing video games all day as a means to escape. These guys are usually socially awkward and, oftentimes, virgins, especially depending on the type of games they play. Me personally, I rarely play video games, but if I do, I would play the occasional Animal Crossing on Nintendo Switch because it's cute and games like The Sims on the PC because it's interesting. However, I can never spend more than 30 minutes playing any sort of video game. I much rather be hanging out and enjoying the real world. Unless you're a professional streamer or something, I do believe those that spend way too much time playing the game should seriously get a life.
@Derekk: Sharing a world with 7.8 billion people and not wanting to talk to or hang out with any of them in preference of staying indoors playing video games all day isn't normal. Humans are social creatures. Playing a mobile game isn't the same as playing a console or PC game.

I think our disagreement is one of degree. I agree that people who NEVER socialize probably aren't happy or healthy. But to assume that liking to play games means your wasting your time or have poor social skills is to buy into a lot of the silly stereotypes about what it means to play games.
@Derekk: Good points. Well, how do I say it. It's just that, I feel that when someone asks about people that play video games, I feel that they're referring to those that regularly play all the time. I say that because almost everybody with access to them has played some type of video game before, but you're right. You're making sense. Simply enjoying playing the game isn't bad, but as long as it's not all you do for several hours straight.
@Tiffany_Taylor_Made so what you are saying is that when you're a girl around my age it's fine but when you get older you aren't allowed to play or it comes off as immature? You may enjoy being out in the real world but some ladies like being inside playing with online friends in virtual worlds with infinite possibilities. You again contradict yourself because in your original post you said, "Girls especially young usually don't play games." @Virgo31: What I mean is girls around your age (13) have plenty of time on their hands. When you're 13, life is mostly just school, homework, and free time. Women around my age however (29) usually don't have time to play games. We have to focus on more important things. By that, I don't mean that women aren't allowed to play when they become adults. What I said is also not a contradiction. It's possible for something to be both normal and unusual. For example, girls don't usually play high contact sports as children, but it would still be normal if they did because tomboys are normal.

I prefer doing something else however since I played over 2 decades on computers and online video games. Not to say it got boring but I didn't get to do other fun activities I wanted to do like swimming on beaches, playing outside, camping, traveling around, cuddling women, shooting, taking drugs etc...
All these recreations cost more money than a 10 euro videogame, which will last like forever.
The computer on the bottom was comparatively to what I had in my childhood throughout my teenage years.
And now for me it's all about these recreations (still have to do these)

Crime here in America is so high because of those durn video games and it’s a real problem. Since their creation it has been anarchy in this county, like I mean it’s just bad, people had never died before hand so this is just a real problem and it needs to be dealt with. Ted Bundy admitted to once playing Tetris so it is no wonder he did what he did. Bernie Sanders believes this and so does CNN, and how could they be wrong? I’m just gonna go with the facts on this one, good people have never even thought about looking at a video game, because it would be a sin. Any game developers are terrorists or support terrorism. This means that video games teach our children to support terrorism and that just isn’t right. If you raise a child that plays any video games that means you are basically a terrorist yourself. I find it hard to believe that some people think this is a joke, because radical Islamic terrorism is not a joke. Some people say video games can be educational, but the only thing they teach is radical terrorism.
Don't blame the video games. What you learn from them is totally up to you.

I never really played video games when I was a kid. My family didn't have a TV for much of my childhood.
But during uni and after it I got an old Xbox 360 and started playing Mass Effect Trilogy, Skyrim, etc. That was super fun. I was so bad at the start, ha ha!
I think they're a really fun medium for all sorts of interesting stories and just plain good times. Recently, Animal Crossing has been a big on since I bought myself a Switch. I love finding games that help me relax and chill out - I have a bit of a hard time doing that on my own.
They're rare and were completely unheard of back when I was young (late 90's/2000's). But nowadays, are nothing special. Still rare though; only like 5%-10% of girls play video games out of the gaming market. And no, mobile sh*t doesn't count; I'm talking about consoles or PC. And even of those, most of the games they play are very generic, popular stuff like The Sims, Pokemon, or Call of Duty. (Basically just like the OP.)
I don't have a problem with it. In fact, I like girls who play games. Too bad they usually only fall into two categories: E-thots or "I'm not like OTHER girls" girls who are exactly like other girls. Never anyone normal...
Well, every time I've played a video game (and believe me, it's been a LOT), I've done so using my hands. If there are people out there playing games with their breasts or genitals... actually, I'd kinda like to see that, out of morbid curiosity, if nothing else. Since women's hands work the same way men's do, I fail to see any real difference between them and male gamers (really, browser? Your spell check recognizes "Mithridatize", but not "gamers"?). If they're not using a voice chat, there's really no way to tell a person's gender from how they play. (Although if the number of female-voiced players I encountered in Left4Dead says anything about it, there might be indications in what they play; maybe women like co-op more?).
I see no reason to treat them any differently, which brings me back to "Good! More people in the hobby."
A causal gamer girl is attractive to me. Someone who does it in her spare time to relieve stress and relax. From the craziness of her job and daily life.
Helps if we like similar types of games to play together once in a while.
But a girl who does it most or all of her day is a turn off typically. Even if it is her main source of income. Because then she is just typically getting donations from lonely guys online. Who have almost no chance to meet or sleep with her ever.
They are awesome. I have 2 female friends that i play with and they are fun to be stuck with in a game. I hope it gets better for gamer girls because the gaming community is has a very toxic behavior and when they find out that person is a girl it gets even worse. In an online environment no matter how decent a person they are a woman's presence is always annoying, solely because guys will hear a female voice and immediately drop whatever they were talking about before and stop focusing on the game. That's not women's fault, but whose fault it is doesn't really matter if it's annoying and inevitable.
Even we find it annoying when guys talk to us about the stuff which is not related to the game. 😆

I like it, my girlfriend games but it's something I got her into. She and I play all sorts together and enjoy it as it gives us some bonding time while I enjoy my hobby. Likewise gives us more to talk about and goals to work towards. Our first year together we played Ghost Recon Wildlands and slowly completed the whole thing, it was a blast :)
I love sniper games... I'm not very good at any game but I love playing. So girls, if you like video games I see nothing wrong with it presuming that you don't spend way too much time on it.

Is one of the reasons I dump my ex. I was more focus in business when she was into gaming being at home doing nothing. Not even food or at least the mop. Until I got sick of it and I ask her "seriously can you cook? Reply, "just cereal". I am like 🤷♂️ do you want to learn? She said, " I really let my mom cook I mean if you are hungry we can go to my mom house". I said "oh no, just get out of my house really? I am glad we are not even married". Her sister came over pick her up and yapping. The her parents came over telling me that disrespectful specially done to her daughter. I told him teach her to cook at least mop the floor instead video games minimum find her a job for God sake.
Later her friend tells me she has been dump before because of it. Previous ex boyfriend decided just to use her for pleasure since she was so focus in gaming. Then he got tired of her and dump her. Then you and now for the same reason.
I love it. I play all sorts of games... Right now I own: ESO, sims 4, Minecraft, all the assassins games ( preordered Valhalla ), God of war, Middle earth: Shadow of war, red dead redemption, the witcher, Cod wwII, Lego Harry Potter, Tomb raider, we happy few, bioshock, kingdom hearts, God of war 3 remastered, spyro, vampyr, sherlock Holmes, and kingdom come: deliverance.
I had loads more but deleted them as I didn't play them anymore after completion. Had spiderman, mafia 3 etc.
My boyfriend hates it sometimes because I'm better at certain games, but he's better than me on the others too.

Video games are supposed to be for everyone, yet in my extensive online experience, girls playing videogames has been an exceptionally rare occurence. So naturally when I do come across it, it is a little exciting. Games are a great hobby and are NOT a waste of time so good for anyone, boy or girl, who plays.
Just like guys, it depends on the game. What do you think of people who watch TV? That depends on what they're watching. Is she into FPS? Probably thick skinned with good reflexes. RPGs? Likes good stories and adventures. RTS? That's a rare breed for women, but my respects. Casual or mobile? Most women seem into this, so nothing special there. Sim games? Same as casual, for the most part.
I also enjoy video games so it's something we'd have in common, but it's not like an immediate yes to a date or anything. That's just their interest/hobby. A very fun one, but I also need to like the girl herself. Assuming I do, games could be a very fun activity.
i like them in general but they also play games that are just the popular games and i hate league of legends and other moba style or battle royale games so it ends up not being an area that i communicate with them much, its actually harder to talk to them than a girl who doesn't like video games at all
I love gaming, it is my main hobby. Not going to spend 24/7 on it and not deal with other aspects of life, but I'd be lying if I haven't done a full videogame binge weekend before.
I think girls who play video games are badass, I mean for me , they are.. I don't like pubg at all but the girls who talk about video games who knows what they are talking about. when they talk about games.. it makes them sexy on another level!
My dream is a girl who also liles gaming. That way they at least understand my hobby. I feel like a non gamer could never understand and would only get upset or feel neglected if I wanted to play a game which is like my lifes tool of stress relief and relaxation, not to mention the casual conversations with strangers.

I remember that game. Highly underrated. Last I checked, I still had clothes I had customized and VIP passes I had bought with free tickets people used to get just for logging in. Ik things changed a lot since those TIX days.
by the way, pro tip: Redwood Prison has a secret nobody knows that can help win a game as prisoners at least years ago when I was there. The trick is to drop key cards in that house with backspace and then collect them all so you have like 20. After, go to the prison and spread them in more covered areas. If possible on the right side, you can put them through walls into the cells. This is a HUGE boost that helped turned some games around. I remember checking all around the web to see if anyone but me figured out this trick. Nothing, even though I taught it to at least like 10 players.
