What do guys really think of girls that play video games?

I've been gaming for as long as I can remember - warning: that doesn't necessarily make me good xD. Anyways, I've heard so many stereotypes of female gamers and everyone says "guys love girl gamers" but I just want to know your honest opinion about them

I appreciate everyone's opinion! Though I think I should have elaborated more. My question is, "What guys that don't usually play video games think of a female gamer?" When people I know that don't play video games find out I'm a gamer, they usually start treating me like a nerd and making fun of me (with obvious exceptions.) I want to know if guys that don't play video games relate to you guys, or if they are the same as the other people I know

To be honnest, girls or e girls like they are call are not treat like shit like I could have read in comments. They are considered as bad players cause they generaly spend less time playing, and of course less girls play video games than boys, making pro's being mostly guys. Beside that I can tell you many guys would do anything to play or date a girl on games (hello girls being stuff and getting presents in MMORPG and such games).

I personaly like it cause I spend quite some times on game. I'm a competitor and games are a way to push myself abd having fun. Having a girl that play means I can play with her, and she understand it. I got some friends' girlfriend that doesn't play and scream at them cause they play few hours a week. I find it easier to share time and things with a girl that play like me. Bet many guys think like that

I understand what you are getting at. However, I do think there are just some guys out there that will treat you like shit just for being a girl. You do make a great point though!!

I can tell you there are more girls using guys to have many presents or favors than guys treating them like shit. From my experience at least. But you can be sure 95% if the guys love gamers. It's better than going out to the park the week end to spend time with her beloved right?

oh that is especially true for mmorpg's. It is very common to see a girl throwing herself all over guys in-game so she can get free gold or legendary armor or something like that. and okay, the toxicity I recieve is mostly from fps games where it would be expected. You are probably right about the girls tricking guys in games being much more common actually.

Well, I don't think it's toward girls. FPS are kind of game were you flame everyone making you lose (I'm the first to tell people when they do wrong).

Flamers will flame anyone. If they know you are a girl they will use it to flame girls. If you are young they will use it to flame youngs. They will always found a group of person to put you in and flame.

Ah I see. And if I'm not making them lose? I'm normally one the normal to good scale with fps games. Would you say they are just angry and wanting to release their anger on someone?

I would say. If you carry games or at least don't let the team down let them scream. Just laught at them nothing better than ignoring and laughting at their reaction. Anyway FPS are the worst games in terms of community. So much rage, I knew it so well on CoD years ago. Who cares about guy or girl, on a game, you are gamer, that's all ^^

Currently the games I am playing are ps4 overwatch, guild wars 2, and I am trying to platinum skyrim at 97%!! I like a bunch of different games though

I play a lot of different games! I still play on ps3 because of mainly diablo 3, I play a few different games on ps4, and I prefer to stick with mmorpg games on PC - like Guild Wars 2. However I've recently started taking a liking to LoL haha.

They're the ones who understand that (unlike when watching TV), you never get in between a gamer and the screen during a multiplayer game... EVER! If I'm on campaign mode, I can just hit the pause button; annoying, but forgivable.

I'm not a big a gamer as I used to be up to my early 20's. I'll play a Halo 5 mission every 3 months.
Playing video games doesn't make you a nerd. Being obsessed with video games, or a specific genre or franchise might make you a geek, but that's not necessarily the case.

I'm any case, why are you worried about being labeled as a nerd? I think I speak for many of my brethren when I say that nerdy girls can be very attractive, in part because of their nerdiness. For, 'tis the nerds who shall inherit the Earth.

that's really every guys honest opinion. We love when girls share our interest and it's very rare of a girl to share interest for video games.

Think about it like this. There's a lot of gamers who don't leave their homes. Trust me I used to be that way and know many others who still are even after high school. So meeting a girl through video games is like the only way for these guys to meet a girl. It honestly isn't that rare for a girl to like video games, especially nowadays. Even a girl who doesn't play video games will probably try it once I find her boyfriend likes them. They usually end up having fun together. Even when I was playing games a lot, there were a few girls that played games with us and they were a lot more fun to talk to then the guys.

Yeah I'd say games like call of duty and overwatch are composed of mostly douches, but games like Guild Wars 2 has a surprisingly kind community. I think that's why I've stuck with that mmo for so long. and don't get me wrong, I still love overwatch- but I don't like getting on the mic much anymore. I will only use it for competitive
