She's fishing for compliments, what does it mean?

This girl I like, and who I think likes me, is always saying she looks trash around me. Some examples: When she posted a photo of me and her together on Instagram, she said she looked like trash. She sent me a snapchat of her for the first time, but scribbled herself out. When I asked why, she said its cause she looked like trash. I told her she didn't, and she replied with, yes I do. I have posted about me and her before, so if you need more details, check my other posts. Is she trying to see if I like her by asking for compliments? Or something else? What should I do differently next time?

Sounds like she could have self-esteem problems. But a lot of people hate how they looking photographs, so much that even a scientific study has been done on the topic. Because we are so use to looking at ourselves in the mirror, when we see a photograph of ourselves it is a flip version of what we are used to seeing making it look different or 'ugly' because were not use to it. That being said it seems a bit extreme to scribble out your face, she is obviously not concerned with with sharing her insecurities with you.

Do you think her sharing insecurities is a sign of trust and that she likes me? Cause we don't really know each other that well, like we've never been one on one having a personal conversation.

Personally I would never let people know my insecurities if I didn't find them trustworthy, so I would say its a good sign. Judging from your other posts, it seems that she likes you but isn't confident enough to make the first move or is shy about talking to you one on one. Perhaps try hanging out with her, even in a group to get to know her a bit better. She will probably be more confident and talkative with other people she knows around and it will then make it easier to talk to her one on one.

Thanks for reading my other posts! 😊 I am starting to think she probably does like me, plus all my friends think so! I am trying to get to know her better, and my friends are telling me to tell her how I feel! Do you think o should tell her? Or should I get to know her better first?

Get to know her a little bit more, but try not to wait to long to tell her how you feel because waiting too long often leads to getting friend zoned. Good Luck :)

So I just went up to tell her I like her, and her friend walked up wanting to hear what I was gonna say, so I told her friend it was something between us, and then they ran away smiling and laughing, and I didn't get to tell her.

It seems, @Canada_boy, That She is Not so much 'Fishing for Compliments' Per say, But for You to Just be Polite and Perhaps Acknowledge her once in a Blue Moon By... Whistling to her own Tune "Oh, You look really good, Of course never trashy at all."
As far as your 'Posted a photo of me and her together on Instagram' and Other Posts and Boasts, She most likely is just Looking for A boost in your own Behavior to Not 'Compliment' but to be More... Considerate.

Tell her she looks beautiful, and even if she doesn't believe you, it will still make her feel a bit better about herself!
