Why did this girl reject my follow request on Instagram but like my pic of me?

So I tried following her once, she rejected it and I forgot about her.

I met her at a party and she saw me hook up with her friend

Recently I recognised her and I tried following her again, she turned it down (her account is private) but she liked my most recent pic which is a selfie.

Now, I'm just wondering, why do you think she did that? I'm only asking because I've been bullied in the past and I'm wondering if this is like some joke with her friends or not.

I can overthink things and I'm working hard with my therapist to resolve this
