Why is my crush nervous to approach me?

I have a crush on this girl. We're really close friends for over a year now. As time went on, I developed feelings for her. I don't know how but I did. So it is almost always me who initiates the conversation but when I do, she seems very enthusiastic and the conversation usually lasts a long time (depending on the available time). But on the other hand, she doesn't really go to me to initiate conversations. She isn't afraid to ask her friends things and openly approaches them but she kinda is nervous to ask me questions but as I said, she's enthusiastic when I talk to her first. I really wonder why she treats me that way and different from her other friends.

I just went through the exact same thing with my friend that I got a crush on. Recently when we got back to being just friends we talked and she talked about her side if it. What you described fits my stop that I was in with her perfectly.
Here is my advice. Your close friends but you always initiate the conversation. She is glad that you do cause she is scared and is nervous to go over and talk with you. She does not want to encourage you and she does not want to lose you as a friend either. So she just lets you start things off. She enjoys that your giving her attention and tour still her friend but back in her mind things won't last. Something will happen. She is not sure what to talk to you about so she is probably just making fairly meaning less small talk with you am I right?
She treats you differently from her other friends cause she knows you like her or she suspects that you like her. She does not know what to do.
My crush always seemed interested and even when I asked her to help pick up she happily helped. However she got extremely nervous when we were alone cleaning in the kitchen. I had not thought about it but once or twice she was expecting me to ask her out and she was scared.
If you do tell her out right wait until valentines day I can garnered that it will go over much better if you give her a nice card and seriously ask her out on that day.

There are 2 possibilities

1. She has a crush on you too, but is really shy now after she realized her feelings.

2. She is not interested in you but still likes you as a friend. She doesn't know what to do and is nervous to approach you.
