Why do I get nervous and shy around my crush?

I'm very expressive with my close friends. Just yesterday, two of my friends and I were talking about him a lot. They know I have a huge crush on him but keep my secret. I was describing him in a very elaborated manner.

We were in the library and he passed by. He's friendly and say hi to others. He said hi to us and got into a small conversation about classes. He brought his ancient Egyptian book he likes reading about too. My only reply to him was a ''Hi. Oh, nice book''.

I sounded so awkward (I didn't even smile), briefly looked at him once and then kept looking at the floor. Why do I act so different around him? So much to say about him with my friends and in my journal but nothing much when he came.

Aw girl, don't even stress about it! Acting all shy and nervous around your crush is totally normal.

When you're with your friends, it's easy to gush about him cuz you're all just chatting casually. But when he's actually there in person, it's hard not to feel your heart start racing, right?

Many girls get like that too when a girl like a guy. Something about us just makes a woman’s brain stop working right and you can barely get a word out without blushing like crazy. Any girl totally freeze up too!

Try not to be too hard on yourself. He probably thinks it's cute how shy you are. Most guys find that endearing. And hey, at least you said hi back! Baby steps.

Next time maybe try looking him in the eye a little more when you talk. Or smile real big to show you're happy to see him. But don't stress - these things take time. We can't help but act all giggly and awkward around our crushes!

Just keep being your sweet self. He'll start to feel more like a friend over time the more you chat. Then it'll get easier to relax. But for now, own those butterflies girl! It means he's totally stealing your heart <3

It's completely normal to feel like that because you like him so much and you are hoping that he likes you too! I'm shy anyway but when I was 13 and my crush walked by me or talk to me it was like I couldn't even talk I would stumble out words then when he left I felt like I had made a fool out of myself. Turned out that he liked me too! Beleive me what you are feeling when your crush is around is completely normal.
